The East Post Ruins are a location in Breath of the Wild.[1]
Features and Overview
The East Post Ruins are the remains of an outpost located between the Outpost Ruins and Proxim Bridge in Hyrule Field. Various pieces of furniture can be found among the wreckage of the buildings, and a Wagon that can be searched for Gems is situated along the road that runs through the Ruins. A Yiga Footsoldier may occasionally pass through the Ruins disguised as a Traveler.
100 years ago, the East Post was a settlement with a high Hylian population.[2] Alongside Gatepost Town and the Outpost, it was used as a place to rest for travelers heading to the Great Plateau, Lanayru, or the Gerudo Desert.[2] During the Great Calamity, the East Post was destroyed along with the rest of Hyrule Field.[2] After passing through the Ruins, evacuees would travel through the East Post, though few survivors successfully reached Necluda.[3] Though the buildings closer to the road have remained relatively intact, structures that are further away have been partially reclaimed by nature.[4]
Three Treasure Chests are located within the East Post Ruins. The first is a stone Chest containing an Opal can be found by moving aside two metal doors in the northeastern building with Magnesis. A second stone Chest holding a Traveler's Bow is located in a corner of a ruined structure near the center of the Ruins. Lastly, a third stone Chest lies in the south of the westernmost building, and it contains a bundle of 10 Arrows. In Master Mode, a wooden platform held aloft by Sky Octoroks appears due west of Proxim Bridge, atop which is a metal Treasure Chest which containing an Iron Sledgehammer.
Two Korok Seed Puzzles can be found at the East Post Ruins. The first is a group of Leaves with Fairy Dust atop the Big Flag northwest of Proxim Bridge. The second is an Archery Puzzle, taking place at a Tree Stump marked by a Pinwheel on the north end of the Ruins. When Link solves each of these Puzzles, a Korok will appear and give him a Korok Seed.[5]
