Template:Place Gerudo is a desert Region in Breath of the Wild.

Features and Overview

The Gerudo Region is an expansive desert wasteland, home of the Gerudo people. The region is plagued by Sandstorms that disrupt Link's Sheikah Slate Map, rendering it unusable.

East Gerudo

There are many regions in the east side of Gerudo to the east of Gerudo Desert.

Gerudo Canyon Pass

The Gerudo Canyon Pass is a canyon at the northeastern entrance to Gerudo from the Digdogg Suspension Bridge in Hyrule Field. It contains the Jee Noh Shrine and three Koroks. Upon arriving, Link will encounter a Traveler who asks him if that thing on his hip is a Sheikah Slate.[1] After Link answers him, he angrily proclaims that Link must die, transforms into a Yiga Clan enemy and attacks Link.[2]

Stalry Plateau

Stalry Plateau is a pleateau in east Gerudo with a Guardian Stalker patrolling the area.

Yarna Valley

Yarna Valley is a valley in east Gerudo. There is a Guardian Stalker and a Korok above the valley.

East Gerudo Mesa

The East Gerudo Mesa is a large mesa in east Gerudo. There are many ores on top of the mesa. A Decayed Guardian sits nearby.

Mount Granajh

Mount Granajh is a snowy mountain in east Gerudo. Link will need protection from the cold here. A Korok can be found at the very peak. There is a small, ruined shack on the mountain where Link can read someone's journal called the mountain peak log. It describes someone's attempts at discovering a shrine nearby. Reading it will give Link the "Secret of the Snowy Peaks" Shrine Quest. After completing the Shrine Quest, the Suma Sahma Shrine will reveal itself on the mountain.

Daval Peak

Daval Peak is a snowy mountain in east Gerudo. It is a smaller counterpart to Mount Granajh. On the side of Daval Peak is the pedestal that is needed to activate in order to complete the "Secret of the Snowy Peaks" Shrine Quest and reveal the Suma Sahma Shrine.

South Lomei Labyrinth

Main article: South Lomei Labyrinth

The South Lomei Labyrinth is a labyrinth in east Gerudo, at the foot of Daval Peak. Two Black Bokoblins patrol on top of the labyrinth walls. Upon entering, Link hears a voice telling him that he shall receive a blessing at the end of the labyrinth and he is given "The Desert Labyrinth" Shrine Quest. Link must climb across the walls of the maze to avoid touching the harmful purple substance along some of the Labyrinth's walls and floors. Once Link reaches the end of the Labyrinth, he will discover the Dila Maag Shrine and the Shrine Quest will be complete.

Koukot Plateau

Koukot Plateau is a plateau in east Gerudo. It has a series of wooden platforms on the walls which Link must traverse during the "Missing in Action" Side Quest. Link will find Sesami's missing friends here.

Gerudo Canyon

Gerudo Canyon is a large canyon north of the Wasteland Tower. It contains the Kay Noh Shrine and the Gerudo Canyon Stable. There are two Koroks in Gerudo Canyon. One of them is on a pillar in Gerudo Canyon Stable.

Spectacle Rock

Spectacle Rock is the name of two large circular mesas in east Gerudo. The Wasteland Tower sits on the northernmost mesa. There is also a Korok near the Tower.

Champion's Gate

Champion's Gate is a long, narrow canyon which leads to Gerudo Desert. Two Koroks can be found on top of the sides of the canyon.

Gerudo Desert Gateway

The Gerudo Desert Gateway is a large, stone gate at the entrance of Gerudo Desert.


Gerudo Desert

Gerudo Desert is a vast desert covered in sand, rocks and desert fruit such as Hydromelon. It makes up the majority of the region of Gerudo.

East Barrens

The East Barrens are the entire southeast section of the Gerudo Desert. The Misae Suma Shrine resides within it. Link will meet Pokki the Gerudo there and cannot enter the Shrine until he finishes "The Perfect Drink" Shrine Quest. There are two Koroks in the East Barrens, with one of them near the Shrine. This region is also where the Divine Beast Vah Naboris can be found.

Kara Kara Bazaar

Kara Kara Bazaar is a small oasis in Gerudo Desert, found in the middle of the path to Gerudo Town. It contains a Memory, two Quests, several characters, an Inn and three General Stores.

Gerudo Town

Main article: Gerudo Town

Gerudo Town is the main town of Gerudo Desert and the Gerudo people. Only women are allowed to enter the town. The Daqo Chisay Shrine resides right outside. Gerudo Town is a crucial area to progress in the "Divine Beast Vah Naboris" Main Quest. Gerudo Town contains several Quests, a Korok, a Goddess Statue and an Inn called Hotel Oasis that offers a spa treatment. It also has many shops, including five General Stores, The Noble Canteen, Fashion Passion and the jewelry shop, Starlight Memories. There is also a Korok in the ruins north of the town. Traysi can be found in Gerudo Town. There are two Treasure Chests in Gerudo Town, one contains 100 Rupees and the other contains a Golden Bow.

Sand-Seal Rally

Main article: Sand-Seal Rally

The Sand-Seal Rally is a Sand Seal racing spot south of Gerudo Town. By completing "The Undefeated Champ" Shrine Quest, Link can reveal the Raqa Zunzo Shrine that resides here. In order to do this, Link must beat Tali's record of 1:30 in the Sand-Seal Race. It costs 50 Rupees to attempt the race.

Karusa Valley

Karusa Valley is a dangerous valley where the Yiga Clan reside. Link must pass through here to reach the Yiga Clan Hideout during the "Divine Beast Vah Noboris" Main Quest.

Yiga Clan Hideout

Main article: Yiga Clan Hideout

The Yiga Clan Hideout is the secret base of the Yiga Clan. Link must infiltrate this place and defeat Master Kohga to retrieve Riju's stolen Thunder Helm in the "Divine Beast Vah Noboris" Main Quest. It is coated with Yiga Clan soldiers that Link must either fight or sneak past. A Gerudo named Barta that's being held prisoner there informs Link that he can lure them with Mighty Bananas.[3]

East Gerudo Ruins

Main article: East Gerudo Ruins

The East Gerudo Ruins are the ruins of a temple near the entrance to the Gerudo Desert.[4] The temple is a circle of giant statues of the seven heroines who once protected the region of Gerudo.[5] Link must solve a puzzle here in "The Seven Heroines" Shrine Quest, given by Rotana.

Palu Wasteland

Palu Wasteland is a large section in the eastern part of Gerudo Desert. There is a Korok here.

Great Cliffs

The Great Cliffs are large cliffs north of Kara Kara Bazaar. There is usually a large Sandstorm here that causes interference and renders Link's Sheikah Slate Map unusable. Here Link can complete "The Eye of the Sandstorm" Shrine Quest by finding the Dako Tah Shrine. It is much easier to find this Shrine during the few hours of the night when the sandstorm is gone.

Northern Icehouse

The Northern Icehouse is an underground icehouse north of Gerudo Town. It it used to store the ice brought down from the nearby mountains.[6] It plays a role in "The Perfect Drink" Shrine Quest.

Southern Oasis

The Southern Oasis is a mesa-like oasis south of Gerudo Town. It houses a Treasure Chest containing 10 Bomb Arrows, a Korok and a Molduga.

Arbiter's Grounds

Arbiter's Grounds is a sparse group of ruins in the southern Gerudo Desert. Despite sharing a name with the Arbiter's Grounds in Twilight Princess, it shares no similarities. A Korok and a Molduga can be found here.

Dragon's Exile

Dragon's Exile is a location in southwest Gerudo Desert. A Molduga can be found in North Dragon's Exile.

West Barrens

The West Barrens are the entire northwest section of the Gerudo Desert. The Kema Zoos Shrine resides hidden within it. The Fang and Bone shop can be found in the West Barrens at night sometimes.

West Gerudo Ruins

The West Gerudo Ruins are ruins in the west side of the Gerudo Desert.

Toruma Dunes

The Toruma Dunes are a flat, nearly empty area of the Gerudo Desert. The Tho Kayu Shrine resides hidden within it. Link must light four torches to reveal this Shrine. Toruma Dunes also contains a Molduga, which must be defeated to complete the "Medicinal Molduga" Side Quest.

Gerudo Great Skeleton

Main article: Gerudo Great Skeleton

The Gerudo Great Skeleton is the skeleton of one of the three Great Skeletons in Hyrule. Link must take a picture of these remains for the "Leviathan Bones" Side Quest. These bones also contain a Korok, the Hawa Koth Shrine and the great earth fairy, Tera. Tera is the oldest of the four great fairy sisters.[7] To the east of Gerudo Great Skeleton resides a camp of Bokoblins with a Treasure Chest containing a Diamond and another camp of Bokoblins to the north with a Treasure Chest containing a Great Thunderblade.
