Template:System The Nintendo Switch is a Nintendo home console. It is the successor to the Wii U. The Nintendo Switch is a hybrid system, being playable as a handheld with detachable controllers, or on a television.[1] It was revealed on October 20, 2016. It is planned for a March 2017 launch globally.[2]

The Nintendo Switch was announced on March 17, 2015, where it was originally known by its code-name the Nintendo NX.[3]
