Appearances
The Legend of Zelda
In The Legend of Zelda, Link can receive the Letter from the Old Man in a northeast cave of Hyrule. When Link shows the Letter to various Old Women, they will sell him Water of Life.
Link's Awakening
In Link's Awakening, the Letter is obtained in the Animal Village from Christine after giving her the Hibiscus. It must be delivered to Mr. Write, who gives Link the Broom in exchange.
Ocarina of Time
In Ocarina of Time, Zelda's Letter is obtained from Princess Zelda inside Hyrule Castle's Courtyard. It must be given to the Death Mountain Trail Guard in order to access the Death Mountain Trail. A Letter in a Bottle can also be found in Lake Hylia. The letter must be delivered to King Zora in order to gain access to Zora's Fountain.
Majora's Mask
In Majora's Mask, Link can receive the Letter to Kafei from Anju, which must be deposited in a Mailbox. Once Kafei receives it, he gives Link the Pendant of Memories in exchange.
