In Majora's Mask, the Zora Hall, situated in Great Bay of Termina, is the congregation place for the aquatic race known as the Zoras. The Zora Hall consists of vast caverns, and the entire complex is beneath the ground like many of their past domains. Here is also the gathering place for the popular Zora Band, The Indigo-Go's.[1]

Features

There are many chambers inside Zora Hall, including a room for each of the band members and a few others. A Deku Scrub lives inside Lulu's room who is willing to trade items.

Preparations for the band's rehearsal are taking place around the stage area: Link can use Fire Arrows to light torches to illuminate the stage and a sound system is being adjusted for volume on the stage that echoes Mikau's guitar.[2]

While here, Link can learn much about the condition that has befallen Lulu, as well as the cause behind the ocean's abnormal weather. The only way to enter the band members' rooms and acquire this information, however, is as Zora Link.[3] To the west of the Zora Hall is an entrance that leads to the Zora Cape, which is where Lulu spends most of her time standing idly and gazing at the sea.[4]

One of the rooms is where Mikau used to live, and where Tijo can still be found; written in the deceased guitarist's diary is a chronicle on his sessions with Japas.[5] Two portions of an experimental song are learned here. In his room, Japas is practicing with his bass; Link, disguised as Mikau, can practice with him by playing the notes found in Mikau's Diary. Japas knows that Evan would never approve a song not written by them,[6] but if Link goes to Evan's room and, while in a form other than Zora Link, plays the entire melody from Japas and Mikau's jam session (including the notes played by the former), Evan, believing that none of the band's members is aware of that song, copies it and awards the young hero with a Heart Piece.

Trivia

  • In each of the band player's rooms, when Link approaches the musician in that room, the Zora will start playing a song from a Zelda game. Japas plays the dungeon theme from The Legend of Zelda, Evan plays the Game Over tune from the same game, and Tijo plays the cavern theme from A Link to the Past.
  • The theme for Zora Hall is the same tune heard in Zora's Domain.
  • Zora Hall, as seen from the outside, is the shape of a whale that bears striking resemblance to Lord Jabu-Jabu, patron deity of the Zoras in Ocarina of Time.
