Ingo is a rather bitter character who works at Lon Lon Ranch. He appears to be moderately lazy, but complains about the harsh amount of work he is ordered to do. Ingo seems to have morally ambiguous intentions and his trustworthiness should be questioned.
Appearances
Ocarina of Time
Ingo debuts in the Zelda series in Ocarina of Time as Talon's employee at Lon Lon Ranch. During Link's childhood, Ingo is found working hard at the ranch. Within the further seven years of Link's life, Ingo appeals to Ganondorf and is granted ownership to the ranch. He kicks Talon out of the ranch and orders Malon to do the hard work while he charges Rupees in exchange for short horse rides. Ingo will also challenge Link to a horse race but his greedy and vain personality is further revealed upon loss. However, after leaving the ranch, should Link come back (after winning Epona), Ingo's entire personality seems to have changed, being grateful for the opportunity to work under Talon.
He also plays a larger role in the Ocarina of Time manga, acting as a boss himself.
Oracle of Seasons
He reappeared in Oracle of Seasons where he lived in Sunken City and collected vases. Link was required to get the Goron Vase from Biggoron and give it to Ingo to continue the Trading Sequence.
Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland
Ingo also made an appearance in Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland, and was found in Lon Lon Meadows. Other than giving Tingle a few tips, he only served a small role.
Trivia
- Ingo, along with his employer Talon, seem based off of Mario and Luigi from the Super Mario Brothers series. This isn't too far of a step, as The Legend of Zelda series has included things such as monsters taken directly out of the Mushroom Kingdom on more than one occasion. Ingo, of course, would be based off of Luigi as opposed to Mario (despite the color of his overalls).
- Ingo's doppelgangers in Majora's Mask are the Gorman Brothers.
