Korok Leaves are Items in Breath of the Wild.[1]
Location and Uses
243 (248) Korok Leaf |
Description |
Common Locations West Necluda | |
Properties |
Korok Leaves can occasionally be found lying on the ground near Rafts, though they can also be found from felling Trees. Though they are naturally occurring, they belong to the Korok Gear archetype of equipment.[2] When swung, Korok Leaves produce a strong gust of Wind that can blow back light Enemies,[1] such as Bokoblins and Yiga Footsoldiers. This gust is also useful against Wind-sensitive objects such as windmills and Rafts, allowing Link to sail independently from chance Winds. The gust from Korok Leaves can also be used to fan flames, quickly spreading Fires. Korok Leaves are flammable and can be used to transfer flames. However, they will disintegrate if left ablaze for too long. Swinging a Korok Leaf without hitting a solid object will not damage its durability.
As Korok Leaves are not designed to be used as Weapons, they are not optimal for direct melee combat. Nonetheless, they are still capable of dealing minor damage. Korok Leaves cannot be thrown, as Link will merely blow a gust of Wind if the R Button is held and released. Charging an attack with a Korok Leaf will cause Link to forcefully thrust it forward from overhead, generating a longer-lasting gust of Wind. Gusts from a Korok Leaf can upset Cuccos, prompting them to attack if sufficiently agitated.
During the "Recital at Warbler's Nest" Shrine Quest, Kheel will give Link a Korok Leaf as a reward if he does not already have one.[3] She suggests that he swing it towards the stone structures the make up Warbler's Nest, as it makes a fun noise when he does so.[4] She also shares the lyrics to the song they are singing, which describes a Monk throwing open the doors if the Wind makes the rocks sing.[5] If Link swings his Korok Leaf at these structures in the correct order while standing on the nearby Pedestal, Voo Lota Shrine will emerge from the ground, completing the Shrine Quest.[6]
Korok Leaves will burn if they are exposed to Fire or equipped in a Scorching Climate. They will also float if they are dropped in Water, and they will not attract Lightning during Thunderstorms or conduct Electricity.
