The Maag Halan Shrine,[1] designated by the Trial name Maag Halan's Blessing,[1] is an Ancient Shrine in Breath of the Wild.
Entrance to the Shrine
Maag Halan Shrine is located in Mido Swamp in the northeast corner of the Great Hyrule Forest. Link must first talk to Damia at the entrance of the Korok Trial, who will give him the "The Test of Wood" Shrine Quest.
The Shrine Quest requires Link to travel a path set before him using the entire Korok Weapon Set: a Forest Dweller's Sword, Forest Dweller's Shield, and Forest Dweller's Bow.[2] This path is filled with a variety of Monsters, including Stalkoblins, Keese, and Chuchus. Once Link reaches the end of the path without any of his equipment burning or being broken, Maag Halan Shrine will emerge from the ground, completing the Shrine Quest.[3]
As Link enters the Ancient Shrine, he is greeted by its Monk, Maag Halan, who states that merely being able to enter the Shrine is proof of his worth.[4]
Maag Halan Shrine features no puzzles, simply a direct path to the Monk's Pedestal bearing Maag Halan. Along this path is a stone Treasure Chest containing a Giant Ancient Core. When Link approaches Maag Halan, the Monk will give him a Spirit Orb as a reward for reaching the Ancient Shrine.[5] After this, Maag Halan wishes Link well before fading away.[6]
