"The Priceless Maracas" is a Side Quest in Breath of the Wild.[2]
Overview
On the path between Kakariko Bridge and Kakariko Village, Link can encounter Hestu.[1] He expresses his shock that Link is able to see him,[3] revealing it has been 100 years since someone has done so.[4] After introducing himself, Hestu explains that he needs Link's help.[5]
A group of Blue Bokoblins have stolen Hestu's Maracas and are hiding behind a grouping of rocks just up the path.[6] Without them, Hestu is unable to use his powers.[7] He asks Link to retrieve them for him,[8] which begins the Side Quest.
Past the rocks, Link will find a Monster Stronghold comprised of three Blue Bokoblins. Once all of them have been defeated, the Treasure Chest containing Hestu's Maracas at the back of the stronghold will be unlocked. Hestu is shocked to see that Link has his maracas and will ask for them back.[9] Though he is happy to have them back at first,[10] Hestu realizes that they are missing the Korok Seeds inside of them.[11] If Link brings him a Korok Seed, Hestu would be able to use his powers to expand his Inventory.[12][1]
When Link next speaks to Hestu, he reveals that the Korok Seeds must have been stolen by the other Koroks as a prank.[13] However, when he realizes that Link has at least one Korok Seed,[14] he will ask for in exchange for expanding his Inventory.[15]
If Link agrees to hand a Korok Seed over, Hestu asks him which stash he would like to expand.[16] Hestu will expand Link's stashes twice, after which he realizes how late it has become.[17] He has to leave before Great Deku Tree gets mad at him for being out so long.[18] If Link ever has any more Korok Seeds, Hestu encourages him to come to Korok Forest to give them to him.[19] With this, the Side Quest will be complete.
