Tears of Farore are Items in Skyward Sword.[1]

Location and Uses

Tears of Farore are Sacred Tears found within Farore's Silent Realm. There are 15 total Tears that must be collected in order for Link to prove his courage and earn the right to temper his Goddess Sword with Farore's Flame.[2][3] Tears of Farore are stored inside the Spirit Vessel, a plant representing Link's spirit that is given to him when he passes through the Trial Gate.[4] When a Tear of Farore is obtained, it will pacify the Guardians inside Farore's Silent Realm for 90 seconds. After this period of time, they will awaken if Link is standing outside of the Trial Gate. The effects of the Tears will also be nullified if Link is caught by an Earth Watcher or Sky Watcher.

Upon collecting all 15 of the Tears of Farore, the Guardians will return a permanent resting state and Link will be able to safely return to the Trial Gate with proof of his courage. As a reward for his accomplishment, Link will receive the Water Dragon's Scale, allowing him to swim through water and meet with Lanayru in Lake Floria.
