Re-Write?

I know it's a long way off, but some day I'd love to see this article achieve a sufficient standard to become featured. For me, the Cucco is such an integral part of the character of Zelda games. Any takers for a good re-write? —Adam ^(talk) 16:50, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

For the Record

Is the title Cucco's Revenge Squad official? I've never seen it anywhere, and am just curious after I placed the conjectural name template on the title; the template was subsequently removed later, without question. I don't think so. It seems to be a fan-named subject and I seriously doubt Nintendo would give them an official name. This article refers to the subject as the commonly called "Cucco's Revenge Squad" however. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Knife (talk) 01:08, 10 February 2010 (UTC)

Cucco Cloud Glitch

This is best done at Lon Lon Ranch, where link can stay safe on Epona's back. While shooting one cucco will trigger the squad, Link can be able to ignore the first squad and harrass a second chicken. This doubles the size of the squad. When all six chickens are provoked into calling in squads, there can be so many cuccos that one can have difficulty seeing where he is going. --Stalkid (talk) 11:37, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

Chicken?

This is probably nothing much, but I noticed that in Oracle of Seasons, Bipsom (may) ask you the question: "Which was first, the chicken or the egg?", using the term chicken instead of Cucco. This can imply many things, such as that a Cucco is another name for the chicken, or that the Cucco comes under the category of 'chicken', or that regular chickens also existed at some point in time, which result in the phrase "Which came first, the chicken or the egg?" to be coined. It was likely just said like that to keep to the original phrase or something, and none of this was intended, but since they did use it, I'm wondering if we should at least mention it somewhere, or something. --KokoroSenshi (talk | contribs) 08:46, 14 April 2011 (UTC)

If I remember correctly, the "cucco" you get in OoT from Malon is called Chicken. So perhaps, the male is Cucco and the female is still Chicken? Dunno… --Smighty (talk) 04:07, 23 April 2013 (UTC)

I'm actually quite confused, this article claims they weren't called Kokko in the Japanese games until long after they'd started being called Cucco in the English ones. Is it... even possible the translation went in that direction? KairuHakubi (talk) 07:50, 9 December 2018 (UTC)

Etymology

"Cucco" is also an italian word for cuckoo. Mt. Cucco exists in italy Monte Cucco and in the oracle of seasons. For some reason this site of some kind of travelling agency is translated in italian, english, deutch, spanish and japanese! I assume cuccos being male chicken (they say "Cock-a-doodle-doo" when you hit them). Finnish word "kukko" means male chicken. Hiaou (talk) 19:44, 11 July 2011 (UTC)

Transforming a Cucco

This happens in the original SNES version and on the other versions for the GBA and the Wii virtual console. This event, I believe, should be mentioned on the trivia section. There is a Cucco in Kakariko Village, inside one specific house, that when sprinkled with Magic Powder, turns into a human woman, and talks, complaining that a human form is uncomfortable for her. This is the only Cucco that can transform in the entire game, there is no other in Kakariko Village or the Dark World that would transform. For a reference, please see this YouTube video. Lon Lon Cuccos

I'm going to double check, but there is a difference between the "Super Cuccos" but it's subtle. I believe it is the consistent bopping of their heads. When they are behind Talon, you notice they are never stop nodding (Obviously just Talon's mindless "yes men") and so, while hunting them down I looked for the chickens who's head never stayed still. Hyrule Warriors Section Incomplete

The section on Hyrule Warriors says nothing about the Adventure Mode missions where two Golden Cuccos "fight for territory." My own information on this one is incomplete, but anyone else who wants to study it can find this situation reliably in the mission for Ruto's level 3 weapon--the sixth space down on the far right column of the map.
