"Revali's Flap" is the second Recovered Memory in Breath of the Wild.[1]

Overview

"Revali's Flap" is triggered by speaking to Saki during the "Divine Beast Vah Medoh" Main Quest. She directs Link to Revali's Landing, explaining that it was named in honor of Revali after the Great Calamity.[2]

The Recovered Memory starts with Link watching Divine Beast Vah Medoh fly overhead while standing on Revali's Landing. He is interrupted by a strong gust of wind blowing in from below, which Revali flies up before landing in front of him. He remarks how impressive his Gale is, stating he has made an art of creating Updrafts.[3] He continues to brag about his skills, calling it a masterpiece of aerial techniques among the Rito.[4] In addition, Revali believes that with his skills properly applied, Calamity Ganon could easily be defeated.[5]

Revali moves on, beginning to circle Link.[6] He expresses his disdain for Link's position as the chosen hero, and he feels his talents are wasted assisting him.[7] As a result, Revali decides to challenge Link to a duel.[8] Rhetorically, Revali asks where they should fight, quickly deciding Divine Beast Vah Medoh to be a suitable location.[9] He then laughs, reminding Link he has no way of making it up to Vah Medoh on his own.[10] Once again, Revali uses his Gale, mockingly wishing Link luck sealing the darkness as he flies to the Divine Beast.[11]

Trivia

  • In the Japanese version of Breath of the Wild, Revali's dialogue is slightly different. Instead of wishing Link luck in sealing the darkness, Revali will laugh as he flies away.
