Octoballoon

Not to be confused with Octo Balloon, a Material in Breath of the Wild.

Octoballoons are Enemies in A Link to the Past.[1]

Characteristics

As a relative of the Octorok, Octoballoons have a similar appearance, but appear massively bloated and float a short distance above the ground. They will float towards Link before exploding, scattering small Puffers into the air and across the ground that will hurt Link if he comes into contact with them. These Octoroks will bounce around before disappearing after a few moments, although they can be destroyed before this happens. A floating Octoballoon will also explode if struck, so there is no way to destroy it safely. Notably, only a single Octoballoon can be found in A Link to the Past, on the eastern shore of Lake Hylia.

In the Game Boy Advance version of the game however, a single, orange Octoballoon appears in the Palace of the Four Sword alongside orange Octoroks in an icy room on way to the chamber where Link has to defeat Mothula for the second time. It is identical to the one found in the overworld, but its palette is affected by the room's properties.
