Librari is a character in The Minish Cap.[4]

Biography

Librari is the elder of the Town Minish. He lives inside a book in the Royal Hyrule Library in Hyrule Town, and is the twin brother of the Forest Picori elder Gentari.[4] He carries a feather with him, which came from a Cucco he fought when he was younger.[5]

In order for the Library to open, Link must speak to the Forest Picori who lives near the Wind Crest at Lake Hylia.[6] Despite learning that Librari once entered the Temple of Droplets, how he did so remains a mystery until Link encounters him in person.[7][8]

After speaking to Jotari and Maggie, Link must retrieves three overdue Library Books; when they are re-shelved by Sturgeon, he gains access to Librari's home. While speaking to Librari, the Minish elder triggers a trapdoor, causing Link to fall down a hole and face a trial to learn Librari's secret.[9] After passing the trial and defeating a pair of Scissors Beetles, Link obtains the Flippers, allowing him to Swim and Dive.[10]

Link can Fuse Kinstone Pieces with Librari,[11] causing a Golden Octorok to appear in the Wind Ruins.

After Vaati transforms Hyrule Castle into Dark Hyrule Castle, the Royal Hyrule Library is closed. Librari can still be found elsewhere, however; after Link Fuses Kinstone Pieces with the Forest Picori in the northeastern house of Minish Village for the second time, a crack appears near the Wind Crest at Lake Hylia. The crack serves as the entrance to an obstacle-filled passageway that leads to an island at the center of Lake Hylia, where Librari can be found. He is astonished that Link managed to find him, and gives him a full Heart Container as a reward. [12] If spoken to afterwards, he will tell Link the location of the three Great Fairies across Hyrule.[13][14][15]

Other Appearances

The Minish Cap (Himekawa)

In the The Minish Cap manga by Akira Himekawa, Librari hides a magic feather in the Map he gives to Link; this feather transforms into a Roc's Cape during Link's battle against the Gyorg Pair.
