Legend Mode
Legend Mode is a game mode that consists of the story in Hyrule Warriors.[1]
Features and Overview
Legend Mode consists of numerous stage chapters called Scenarios, in which an Allied Force must fight an Enemy Force (or more), and successfully complete several mission objectives to win and to advance to the next stage. Some stages are revisited in Legend Mode, and thus have multiple Scenario chapters to be completed. Scenarios limit which character can be played in the stage, with some Scenarios limiting to only one character or a selected few. A few stages limit to just one character for the first time, but then open to a handful of other characters once it is completed. Scenarios may recommend certain characters over others, as indicated by a thumbs-up symbol, as well as recommend certain Elements of weapons.
Unlike the Adventure Mode map stages, Legend Mode Scenarios can have their Difficulty settings adjusted; initially ranging between Easy, Normal and Hard. After completing all of the original Scenarios, the Hero Mode Difficulty also becomes available. Playing Scenarios in a harder Difficulty will make enemies harder to defeat and inflict more damage, but will also reward in more Rupees once the Scenario is completed.
There are eighteen Scenario stages in the original Legend Mode line-up. Five additional Scenarios, collectively referred to as Cia's Tale, may also be added by purchasing the Master Quest DLC Pack. These Scenarios, as well as nine additional Scenarios in the form of Linkle's Tale and Wind Waker, are included in the base game of Hyrule Warriors Legends.
Unlockable content
In addition to Adventure Mode, completing certain Legend Mode Scenarios will also unlock extra content within the game. New characters and weapons may be unlocked through the completion of Scenarios, and clearing them in Legend Mode will allow these Scenarios to be playable in Free Mode. In addition, character-specific Heart Containers, Pieces of Heart and Gold Skulltulas may be found within the stages and collected, the latter of which will reward an Illustration piece whose completion will unlock additional rewards. Clearing the first Scenario in Legend Mode will also unlock the game's other modes and allow them to be selected.
In Hyrule Warriors, completing all eighteen of the original Scenario stages will unlock the Hero Mode Difficulty, as well as another set of Gold Skulltullas that can only be found by playing in Hard or Hero Mode difficulties and fulfilling specific requirements with certain characters and weapons. All thirty two Scenario stages must be completed to unlock Hero Mode and the second set of Gold Skulltulas in Hyrule Warriors Legends.
Cia's Tale
Cia's Tale is a collection of additional Scenarios added through the purchase of the Master Quest DLC Pack in Hyrule Warriors. These Scenarios feature the characters Cia, Wizzro and Volga, and serve as a backstory that would lead to the events in the original Scenario line-up. There are five Scenarios included in this set. In Hyrule Warriors, the Scenarios in Cia's Tale do not have any Heart Containers, Pieces of Heart or Gold Skulltulas but in Hyrule Warriors Legends, just like the other Legend Mode scenarios, each scenario has a Piece of Heart, a Heart Container, and 2 Gold Skulltulas.
Linkle's Tale
Linkle's Tale is a collection of additional Scenarios that is exclusive to Hyrule Warriors Legends. The Scenarios are unlocked after completing certain Scenarios in the original line-up, the first of which unlocks after completing The Sorceress of the Woods. These Scenarios feature a side story of a young Hylian Cucco farming girl named Linkle who believes she is the Hero reborn due to a tale her grandmother always told her when she was young. After hearing that Hyrule Castle was under attack by Cia's forces, she set out on a quest to Hyrule Castle with her Crossbows and Gold Compass in hand, however she took a wrong turn and thus started a path of trials for her to prove she was a hero. There are five Scenarios included in this set.
Wind Waker
Wind Waker is a collection of additional Scenarios that is exclusive to Hyrule Warriors Legends. The Scenarios are unlocked after completing the original Scenarios as well as Cia's Tale and Linkle's Tale. These Scenarios contain a story that begins with Link investigating the unexpected opening of portals to the Great Sea and feature the characters Tetra and King Daphnes alongside Link and Lana, who is searching for Cia. There are four Scenarios included in this set.
