Operation Moonfall (occasionally styled Operation: Moonfall) was a fan campaign petitioning Nintendo to remake Majora's Mask for the Nintendo 3DS, much like Ocarina of Time was remade as Ocarina of Time 3D. It was founded in 2011 by Zelda Universe user SuperDecimal.[1] Majora's Mask 3D was finally announced in 2014 and released in 2015, ending the petition.[2]

Projects

Since 2011, there has been an ongoing petition for the creation of Majora's Mask 3D. In just a few days, it had over 10,000 signatures.[citation needed]

On August 16, 2011, Operation Moonfall began "Phase 2." In this phase, supporters started reaching out to the Japanese market.[3]

From August 13, 2013 to September 12, 2013, Operation Moonfall released a Kickstarter project in which the organizers sent posters to Nintendo. The project reached 244 backers and raised $17,670.

On December 1, 2013, supporters held a Miiverse campaign, in which they flooded the Miiverse platform with Majora's Mask-related images.[4]
