Biography

Breath of the Wild

Brigo is a Hylian who is found patrolling Proxim Bridge in West Necluda to protect it from monsters, as the bridge is an important route.[3] He wields a Traveler's Spear.

Despite being used to bad omens, Brigo feels as though they have been getting worse.[4] When he notices Link, Brigo does not recognize him and asks if they have met before.[5] However, he says it does not matter who Link is because he is tired of talking to himself, stating that Link has come at a good time.[6] He continues by asking Link if he has seen the Sheikah Towers that have popped out of the ground all over the place.[7]

Since the long deserted Ancient Shrines have also started glowing, Brigo believes the end is here.[8] Because of these events, he is keeping his eye on "that thing", referring to the nearby Decayed Guardian, in case it starts moving.[9][10] Brigo describes the broken down Guardian as being shaped like an overturned urn.[11]

Closer to Hyrule Castle, a Guardian Stalker had chased down Brigo and shot blue beams of light to kill him, but he managed to escape into the nearby woods.[12] Brigo asks Link if he thinks his lightning fast reflexes saved him.[13] However, he laughs off the comment and says he just got lucky.[14] Since Guardians are said to still wander around Hyrule Castle, Brigo tells Link to be careful.[15]

If Link asks for directions to Kakariko Village, Brigo points to Dueling Peaks and says that on the other side there is a stable where he can ask for further directions.[16] Brigo exclaims in surprise if asked for directions to Hyrule Castle, stating that no matter how many lives Link has, it is not enough to face the many Guardians there.[17] Despite this, he points Link in the right direction, although he believes it would be better to view the Castle from Proxim Bridge.[18] Brigo is confused when Link asks for directions to the abandoned Great Plateau, which is surrounded by a high cliff.[19] Brigo points in the Great Plateau's direction and tells Link to be careful of monsters.[20]

Should Link go to climb or jump off the side of Proxim Bridge, Brigo will stop him and tell the hero to think about what he is doing.[21] He says Link will not change the world by jumping carelessly to his doom.[22] It would only cause Brigo himself shock at seeing such a thing.[23] Brigo ends the conversation by telling Link he is fine and not to be careless, as there are too many enjoyable things in the world to gamble with his life.[24] If spoken to after this, Brigo tells Link he almost gave him a heart attack and not to do something like that again, at which point he offers to chat with him for a while.[25]

Tears of the Kingdom

Brigo is a friendly traveler and member of the Chasm Investigation Team who is searching for a Chasm near Mount Daphnes.[26][27] If spoken to before reporting in to Purah at Lookout Landing, he points Link toward Hyrule Castle in order to help him get his bearings.[28] He travels with a Donkey at his side.

Brigo's journey begins with him resting underneath Fallen Debris before he travels along an unmarked road through the Exchange Ruins. At Mount Daphnes, Brigo asks Link whether he has seen any such Chasm.[29][30] Despite Link's efforts, Brigo is unable to find the Chasm at Mount Daphnes Well and begins to talk about giving up his search, as he believes word of it was likely an embellished story from someone who found themself stuck in a hole.[31][32][33] Brigo also briefly muses about whether the Surface is actually what lies below the Depths.[30]

Brigo turns south from the Exchange Ruins and passes the east side of Aquame Lake, walking through the Gatepost Town Ruins and the Forest of Time. When walking near the Hyrule Field Skyview Tower, he informs Link that it has been taken over by Monsters and turned into a Monster Fort.[34][35] Around the Forest of Time, Brigo explains that Ring Ruins have fallen onto Kakariko Village to the east and that he eventually intends to visit them.[36][37] From the Forest of Time, he travels around the eastern side of Whistling Hill to stop beneath a large Tree north of the Riverside Stable.

If spoken to while it is Raining or during a Thunderstorm, Brigo warns Link that despite his young age, he should be careful while Climbing slippery surfaces.[38] Brigo rewards Link with Food if saved from Enemies.[39][40][41]

  30. 30.0 30.1 "[Chasm?] You know, a chasm—a deep, deep, deep hole. Haven't you heard about those appearing? These things are SO big, you can't see bottom. But what's weird about this chasm is...I can't manage to find it at all. Maybe it's hidden? Maybe chasms aren't always big? Maybe some are small? Or maybe...our world up here is actually BELOW whatever's down there. So up here is really under all that. Ha! Never mind. My mind kind of, er, fell on its face there." — Brigo (Tears of the Kingdom)
  31. "[I didn't see one.] You haven't? Huh. S'pose you're telling me to give up looking maybe? Is that it, Guess I'm just taking advice from passers-by these days. Guess you're saying I should quit? Oh. That's NOT what you mean? Sorry, sorry. Really. S'pose I'll keep on looking, then. Can't give up yet." — Brigo (Tears of the Kingdom)
  32. "Got a minute? You, uh, happen to see a chasm near here? They say there's one somewhere in this area. But I've looked AND looked, and now I doubt there's one at all. I bet some fool got his foot stuck in a hole, got home late, and told everyone he fell into a chasm. Ugh, people." — Brigo (Tears of the Kingdom)
  33. "There's supposed to be a chasm here somewhere. But I've looked all over the place and can't find it. I just know someone blew this all out of proportion. Someone got stuck in a little hole and cried, "Oh no, chasm!"" — Brigo (Tears of the Kingdom)
  34. "You hear this? The Skyview Tower they built nearby got taken over! Yep, it's a monster lair now. Only fair that the monsters should pay some rent on the place. But, yeah. Looks like none of us can use that place now." — Brigo (Tears of the Kingdom)
  35. "Sounds like the Skyview Tower near here got taken over. Now that thing is a monster fort. That's rough. None of us will be using that tower for a good, long while." — Brigo (Tears of the Kingdom)
  36. "Sounds like a number of unusual ruins fell near Kakariko Village to the east. I'm headed there for sure. But, uh, not anytime soon. Young guy like you, though? I bet you're going to bolt for it." — Brigo (Tears of the Kingdom)
  37. "They say that a number of unusual ruins fell near Kakariko Village. That's east from here. Looks like the kind of thing that'd interest you. Who knows? If it's interesting enough, I might head there too." — Brigo (Tears of the Kingdom)
  38. "Young guy like you? Yeah, you're going to climb slopes on a rainy day, even if you might slip and fall to your ruin. Just be careful, OK?" — Brigo (Tears of the Kingdom)
