The Zora Village is an underwater village found in the Zora Seas of Labrynna, in Template:OOA. The village is inhabited mostly by Zoras, and is also home to the great Jabu-Jabu, where another Essence of Time resides. The Zora Village can only be reached after Link has obtained the Mermaid Suit and learned the Tune of Ages.

History

Point of view of the time-traveler

In the past, King Zora has fallen with an illness due to the polluted water coming from the east.[1] If Link does not give him a medicine in order to cure his sickness,[2] the King Zora will not leave a successor to the throne, and the Zoras will be without a king in the present time.[3] Once the king in the past time is cured, the King Zora in the present will grant Link the Library Key in order to research the causes on why the water of the Zora Seas has been so polluted lately.[4] The young hero, with the help of the Fairy Queen, is able rid the sea of its pollution in the past time, which grants Link permission to enter inside Lord Jabu-Jabu during the present time and receive another Essences of Time in the process.

As Link exits the insides of Jabu-Jabu, a Zora crosses his path and thanks Link for all that he has done for the Zora people, granting the young hero a Zora Scale for his help.[5]

Point of view of chronological history

Link visited the Zora Village twice during Ambi's age, and then three times hundreds of years later, during Zelda's age.

  • Ambi's age (hundreds of years earlier)

During Ambi's age, King Zora has fallen with an illness due to the polluted water coming from the east. Link has to give him a medicine in order to cure his sickness, or the King Zora will die without leaving a successor to the throne.

Once the king is cured, the hero leaves and comes back with the key for Eyeglass Isle Library, where he can find a solution for the poisoned waters. The young hero, with the help of the Fairy Queen, is able rid the sea of its pollution in the past time

  • Zelda's age (hundreds of years later)

In the centuries between Ambi's and Zelda's ages, the Zora Seas get polluted again and the Eyeglass Isle library is shut down.

Hundreds of years after his first two visits, Link comes back to the Zora Village. He finds the royal palace empty, save for a Zora liar, who claims that the last king died centuries earlier. All the facts described in this section prove such statement to be false.

The Zora King left his palace just temporarily: in fact, upon his second visit, Link meets the king, who remembers well how Link healed him centuries earlier. The King Zora will then grant Link the Library Key in order to research the causes on why the water of the Zora Seas has been so polluted again lately.

Upon his third visit, Link finds that the Zora Seas became clean while he was away. The reasons for this second cleaning are not explained. Nevertheless, since Link anyway cleaned the sea centuries earlier, and since now Lord Jabu-Jabu has grown up, the Zora King grants the hero permission to enter Jabu-Jabu's Belly and receive another Essences of Time in the process. As Link exits the insides of Jabu-Jabu, a Zora crosses his path and thanks Link for all that he has done for the Zora people, granting the young hero a Zora Scale for his help.

More facts

A Gale Tree can be found on one of the islands on the surface above the village, providing easy warp access to the area. In a Linked Game, the Master Diver's senior pupil appears on the shore. He has a secret for Link to tell to his master in Holodrum.[6]
