Zelda World was founded in 2003 by Toby (previously known as Y-Bot).
History
Zelda World's history dates back to early 2003 when the webmaster, Toby, was starting to learn HTML and web design. At the age of 11 and with the help of his older brother, he managed to start a site which still runs strong today.
Version 1
Early 2003 to 15th December 2003
The first version of Zelda World was designed in early 2003. It featured a fixed-width three-column layout with a purple color scheme. As the site had just started, it did not have any content apart from a few news updates.
Version 2
15th December 2003 to 29th January 2006
After much delay and a temporary shutdown of the site, version 2 was created. This version also had a fixed-width layout, but used blues for its color scheme. Version 2.0 was coded in Macromedia Dreamweaver, but version 2.1 and 2.2 optimized the layout and were hand-coded. During the period of version 2.1, Zelda World moved into the Zelda Central hosting network.
Version 3
29th January 2006 to July 2006
Version 3 of Zelda World was the first to sport a fully scalable layout. It also used a blue color scheme, although the colors were brighter than those seen in version 2. Version 3.1 introduced a new design for the news system, and the site started to become a more reliable source for news.
Version 4
July 2006 to early 2007
Originally, version 4 was going to be a version 3.2 with a few layout tweaks, but it turned out to have a whole new design and color scheme of greens and yellows. Version 4.1 brought some layout tweaks and a few new features.
