Zelda Wiki:Featured Article Nomination

From Zelda Wiki, the Zelda encyclopedia
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Here users can nominate for ZW.org's next featured article. Any article worthy of being featured exemplifies the Wiki's quality standards, and goes above and beyond what is expected in a normal encyclopedia entry. In addition, it is particularly fluid in its language style and explanation of its subject. Featured articles should:

  • Have exceptionally fluid American English grammar and spelling.
  • Be lengthy, yet detailed.
  • Be well organized (as in subdivisions).
  • Cite sources, and cite them properly.
  • Be properly categorized.
  • Contain the most up-to-date information possible.
  • Have no template requesting improvement, merging, deletion, or any template that may in some way state the article is not of excellent quality. In this respect, there should be no duplicate of the nominated article or should the article be a duplicate of another page.
  • NOT be copied from Wikipedia or any site that does not run the Wiki, under any circumstances!

If all goes well, there will be a new featured article every two weeks, and eventually every week. An article needs TEN VOTES in its favor WITH REASONING (or seconding) in order to be marked as featured. Please nominate articles below this passage in a new subtopic, with the article title as the subtopic's name. If you do not sign your opinion or second, your vote WILL NOT be counted!

PLEASE SIGN ALL VOTES/SECONDS BY ADDING ~~~~

Stalfos (FEATURED AS OF JULY 7, 2007)

I'm incredibly sorry that this data was lost. There are, so far, three votes for this article, but my memory only serves to remember two of them: Hisak and Adamcox82. However, I do know there was one last vote - Zebra something I believe? You all have no need to vote again. Once more, I'm sorry that this was deleted! --Jase 12:33, 3 June 2007 (PDT)

Now that all the votes have been properly signed, I make that 10 votes. Stafos is now the first user-nominated featured article on ZW.org! --Adamcox82 01:20, 7 July 2007 (PDT)
  • I did NOT support this article. I said I would once the Four Swords sections were added. Hisak 13:38, 5 June 2007 (PDT)
  • The article now has a section for every game. For the record, my original nomination was on the grounds that the Stalfos has featured in every (?) Zelda game to date, and currently broadly fills all of the main requisites above. --Adamcox82 14:01, 5 June 2007 (PDT)
  • I agree that we should have Stalfos as the featured article --DarkTriforce99 18:03, 5 June 2007 (PDT)
  • Now that all games are covered, I support this article for Featured Article. Hisak 17:18, 5 June 2007 (PDT)
  • I Support Stalfos as a featured article if the pictures are aligned a little neater. SeanMD80 17:51, 7 June 2007 (PDT)
I would rearrange the images, but I now have a weird screen resolution (1440 x 900) after upgrading to a widescreen TFT! I guess the images will display in a different place depending on the resolution the page is viewed at (hence the page width). What could be taken as the most common? 1024x768, 1280x1024? --Adamcox82 13:38, 13 June 2007 (PDT)
  • Pretty flippin' good article! With a bit more information, maybe about other other games I would fully support it! I support it. 42bens 21:27, 13 June 2007 (PDT)
  • i agree with this and its been too long since that main page has got a picture lom678
  • this is a great article of one of the best enemies in the world of zelda and i also support it. twilightinthedark
  • This was one of my favorite enemies in Twilight Princess. I also support this Featured Artical! --74.79.59.143 18:05, 6 July 2007 (PDT)
  • This is a great article and it should be displayed and i think the stalfos are great commen enemies with the power of lower minibosses: victorygreymon

So, a week has passed since Stalfos became the new featured article, and ther has been no activity towards selecting a new featured article yet. With that in mind, I would like to kick things off again by nominating two articles this time. That way, whichever is judged best can become the next featured article (and it won't end up with me having chosen which article it should be again!) --Adamcox82 12:15, 14 July 2007 (PDT)

So, (
bearing in mind that these will both need some tweaking to bring them up to scratch) your choices are:

Lake Hylia

Given that the article has recently been greatly extended, and that Lake Hylia is a frequently recurring location in many games in the series, I think it may be time that a place/location became our featured article. --Adamcox82 12:15, 14 July 2007 (PDT)

  1. I support this one quite throughly since I I know how much work has gone into finding many of the images. Additionally I feel it is a prime example of the work that can be done even on an article about a place. 42bens 14:36, 14 July 2007 (PDT)
  2. I agree with others by supporting this article. It has indeed gone through alot of improvements to prove that it could qualify as a featured article. --Twilightinthedark 5:30, 14 July 2007 (EDT)

Zant

A somewhat more obvious choice, this article is extensive and detail-rich. And, love him or hate him, Zant makes for an un-deniably cool villain! --Adamcox82 12:15, 14 July 2007 (PDT)

  1. Defiantly shows the great amount of work of many users on the wiki. I support it, but it is a bit obvious. 42bens 14:25, 14 July 2007 (PDT)

Zelda Informer

Zelda Informer, a promising new Zelda site that was released this monday (16.7.07). The project is organized by a group of ex-Zelda Universe members that eventually grew tired of ZU and decided to create a better site. The site content will be produced almost entirely by a group of Zelda theorists, originally formed over at Zelda Universe, called The Bombers. --Uncle Meat 7:20, 17 July 2007 (PDT)

  1. Having made some considerable edits to it, as well as it being the very first site listed on the Zelda Wiki to use the brand spanking new Infobox Website template, I'd like to throw my support behind this article. --Captain Cornflake 19:52, 17 July 2007 (PDT)
  2. The article gets my support, the guys over at ZI know what they're talking about, more so than any other group I've had the pleasure of knowing. Experience is priceless, and they have plenty of it.--Darknut King 20:20, 19 July 2007
  3. Ever expanding, the actual article itself is well written and concise and gives a valued look towards the website.--Yami 25:53 GMT, 19 July 2007
