The Cross-Wiki Weekend is an event hosted by the Nintendo Independent Wiki Alliance intended to encourage cross-wiki collaboration to celebrate the birth of Nintendo. To commemorate the event, one random participant will receive a $20 Nintendo eShop gift card (after submitting evidence of their participation here).
The Cross-Wiki Weekend event is being held from 00:01 (UTC) on Friday, September 20 to 23:59 (UTC) on Sunday, September 22. A full list of participatory rules can be found here.
Helping Zelda Wiki
Because Zelda Wiki is a part of the Gamepedia network, you must make a global Gamepedia account to edit. If you do not have an account, you can make one here. If you are looking for ways to help out Zelda Wiki during the event, you're welcome to work on any of the tasks below. If you have any questions, feel free to ask a staff member on their talk page or join the Zelda Wiki Discord and talk to us in the #wiki-general channel. If you're not sure how to get started, we have a guideline just for that.
Link's Awakening for Nintendo Switch
The Cross Wiki Weekend takes place on the same day as the release of Link's Awakening for Nintendo Switch. Because of this, there is no shortage of things for us to do. In general, we need to make rounds to each page and complete the following:
- Update name citations
- Upload images from Link's Awakening for Nintendo Switch and place them in the infobox
- Ensure that the infoboxes make use of Template:Media where appropriate
- Ensure that articles make use of Template:Term and Template:Plural where appropriate, and that articles are using
LANSas the game within these templates - Ensure that all possible citations are derived from Link's Awakening for Nintendo Switch instead of previous games
Zelda Wiki hosts events wherein everyone involved works on articles together. To commemorate the release of Link's Awakening for Nintendo Switch, we will be hosting a Wiki Collab in the #links-awakening channel on our Discord at 9:00 PM ET. The goal is to play through to the first dungeon, Tail Cave, and complete articles as a team as we go.
