The Birdrider's Ceremony[1] is an annual event held on Skyloft.[2] When the competition begins, a golden bird is released that has a Bird Statue attached to it.[3][4] The participants must mount their Loftbirds and chase after it. The one who claims the statue first is the champion for that year and receives a reward from Zelda.[2][5]
Controls
When the event begins, Link must dash and dive off the ledge and call his bird.[6] He must then maneuver his bird and charge occasionally to catch the golden bird. Once he approaches it the first time, two boys, one of them known for playing rough,[7][8] push him away from it and begin throwing eggs at him in an attempt to win instead.[9][10] Once Link catches the bird a second time, he claims the Bird Statue and waves it around, eagerly waiting to show it to Zelda. Zelda suddenly shouts at Link and jumps off a ledge. Link rushes to catch her worriedly, only to find out she's fine.[11] She congratulates him on his performance and urges him to complete the ceremony.[12]
