Characteristics
Three-of-a-Kind are possibly the oddest creatures to ever roam the dungeons of The Legend of Zelda games, and can only be found in Link's Awakening. They scurry around in a room in groups of three, with alternating suits of cards shown on their chest (hearts, clubs, spades, diamonds), each having the same suit at the same time as the others. The way to defeat these enemies can be somewhat difficult. One must start off by hitting one of them. It will halt and stop, showing one of the four card suits. Then, the person willing to destroy these creatures will have to hit the other two so the suits all match up. If they don't, they will all activate and start shambling around the room again. If all three of the enemies are killed with a suit of diamonds, they will each drop a rupee. Also, if all three are killed with a suit of hearts, they will each drop a Recovery Heart. One good way of defeating them is to charge up a spin attack and wait for them to all be in range; this will hit them all at the same time and ensure they are all on the same suit.

Three-of-a-Kind are Enemies in Link's Awakening.[2][3]

Characteristics

Three-of-a-Kinds scurry around in a room in groups of three, with alternating suits of cards shown on their chest, initially all of them having the same suit. To defeat them, Link must hit one of them, which will cause it to halt and stop, showing one of the four card suits. Then, Link must hit the other two so the suits all match up. If they do not match, they will all start shambling around the room again. If all three of the enemies are defeated with a suit of diamonds, they will each drop a Rupee. If all three are defeated with a suit of hearts, they will each drop a Heart.

Nomenclature

Three-of-a-Kind is a type of hand in poker, containing three cards of the same rank. Their Japanese name is a reference to Las Vegas, a popular city for playing poker.
