This Side Quest is one of four Quests needed to complete in order to help the people of [[Gerudo Town]] and receive the [[Thunder Helm]] from [[Riju]] in "[[The Thunder Helm]]" Side Quest. "The Search for Barta" is a Side Quest in Breath of the Wild.[1]

Overview

This Side Quest is one of four that Link needs to complete as part of "The Thunder Helm". After calming Divine Beast Vah Naboris, Link can enter the Gerudo Town Barracks to see Liana wondering what has happened to Barta, one of her soldiers.[2]

When Link speaks to Liana, she expresses her shock that Barta has failed to return for a second time.[3] Kotta explains that she went to investigate the Gerudo Great Skeleton southwest of Gerudo Town,[4] and Leena claims she tried to stop her.[5] Liana states that her attempt oviously did not work, since Barta is not present.[6]

Leena and Kotta say that, since a Molduga lives in the area and it is very hot, they did not think Barta would actually go.[7][8] This only angers Liana further,[9] as Barta would not realize if she were to walk into danger.[10] Liana reminds them that Barta was captured by the Yiga Clan not long ago.[11] She accepts the fact that her soldiers are not going to change,[12] though she laments how often Barta gets into trouble.[13] This begins the Side Quest.

When Link makes the journey out to the Gerudo Great Skeleton, he can find Barta collapsed near its skull. She is delirious at first, wondering if Link is a Fairy or an angel to guide her beyond.[14] Barta wishes that she could have eaten a Hearty Durian one last time,[15] repeating the name of the fruit to herself.[16]

Once Link has a Hearty Durian for Barta, he can return to give it to her. After eating it, she thanks Link for helping her return from the brink of death.[17][note 1] She wants to rest for a while before returning to the Barracks,[20][21] but when she hears that Liana is angry with her, she realizes that she should leave as soon as possible.[22]

Back in the Barracks, Liana will praise Link for finding Barta.[23] She is glad that the situation has been resolved before she could be reprimanded by Teake.[24] As a reward, she gives Link a Silver Rupee, saying he should buy something nice in the market.[25] This completes the Side Quest.
