Storyline

Oracle of Ages: Nayru

Japanese cover

Link ventures from Holodrum to Labrynna. Once he arrives, he participates in a fighting contest, but soon is surprised by the sudden appearance of Impa, Princess Zelda's nursemaid.

Sorceress of Shadows: Veran

Impa leads Link into a forest and asks him to move a stone marked with the symbol of the Triforce because she is unable to do so. Here, the two find Nayru, the Oracle of Ages, singing to a group of forest animals. After a short conversation between Link and Nayru, Impa reveals that she is possessed by Veran.[3] Veran then possesses Nayru and travels back in time to "erase" Link's existence.

An Old Friend: Ralph

Link meets Ralph, an old friend of Nayru's[4] who is searching for her. Link explains her disappearance and they travel back in time to the construction of the Black Tower.

Queen Ambi of Labrynna

Link is attacked by his ancestor, Raven,[5] and taken to the dungeon for "deserting" the construction of the tower. Link soon escapes and spies on Veran, who is possessing Nayru's body, informing the queen of the impact the Black Tower will have on Queen Ambi's fame.

Sir Raven

Sir Raven is revealed as the person who helped Link escape from the dungeon and brings him to a hidden village where all of the supposedly dead villagers[6] have taken residence.

Overthrowing Veran

The Harp of Ages is shown being passed through various hands until Ralph finds it at a store and buys it. Link, however, is staring at the Black Tower with Raven and Roperi. Fights begin to break out at the tower[7] and Link and Raven go to help the rebels. Link arrives at the castle and curses Veran in Nayru's body, who summons a giant tiger to take care of him. Ralph accidentally travels right on top of Link and, with the aid of the Harp of Ages, sends both of them to a deserted desert island.

The Pirate Captain

Ralph and Link construct a rowboat, but are caught by a large pirate ship. Soon after boarding, they discover that the entire crew is composed of skeletons.[8] The Captain reveals himself as Queen Ambi's lover. He set sail to forget his sorrows and ended up caught in time. Soon, the entire ship died. After revealing his secret, the Captain gives Ralph and Link a rowboat and allows them to leave, on the condition that they send Queen Ambi his love.

Ramrock

As Roperi watches her plant grow, Veran plots. She stops possessing Nayru's body and begins to learn about Raven's past. Link and Ralph travel back to the past, but as soon as they reach Labrynna, Veran possess Ralph. They travel back to the village and learn Veran's weakness, Mystery Seeds. As they sleep, Veran burns the seeds to prevent her defeat. Ramrock awakens from within the rocks surrounding the village. Link defeats it with the power of the Triforce. Castle guards begin to attack the villages and Ralph saves Link. Nayru/Veran attempts to kill Link with a spear, but he grabs it. Link gives Queen Ambi the Captain's pendant, and she realizes what she's done wrong. Just then, Veran possesses her.

Mystery Seeds

Queen Ambi orders her guards to imprison the heroes. Nayru awakens just in time and sends them forward in time to modern Labyrnna. Nayru reveals the truth about the absence of Mystery Seeds, Veran's only weakness, in the present day. Using the Harp of Ages, she sends them back to the past. It is revealed that Roperi's plant is a young Mystery Tree. Nayru begins to warp time to allow the tree to grow while Ralph embarks on a journey to the tower. The Mystery Tree produces a Mystery Seed. Link obtains it and travels to the Black Tower. As Ralph is about to kill Ambi and erase his own existence in doing so, Link shoots a seed at her and Veran's possession wears off. Veran reveals her true form: a giant spider.

Veran's True Form

As Link breaks free from the spidery web that Veran wrapped him in, she curses Link for making her reveal her true forme. Link grabs a huge box of spare explosives and sets them off, causing Veran to escape to the upper reaches of the Black Tower. She wraps Link in a spidery covering of webs and prepares to kill them both. As both are about to succumb, Raven appears and cuts Veran apart. In her dying breath, she summons the Twinrova, Gerudo witches.

The Return of the King of Evil

The Twinrova light the flames of destruction and sorrow to resurrect Ganon, the King of Evil. To help Link, Princess Zelda crosses time to speak to his inner soul. She tells him how Twinrova's ritual was incomplete, and only managed to resurrect his evil power. Ganon begins to destroy the Black Tower and ends up crushing himself. He continues to wreak havoc and tear up the beautiful land. All of the warriors and heroes of Labyrnna attack him and he is defeated. The citizens of Labyrnna celebrate and Queen Ambi congratulates Raven on his heroic deeds.
