This is a spider-looking creature that hops around in quite a few Zelda games:

The Tektite comes in three forms:
-(Brown/Land) Tektite
-Blue Tektite
-Red Tektite
There's some more information on the last two in this encyclopedia, just perform a search on the names. The different forms do not appear in every Zelda game.
The Tektite attacks Link by jumping on him. The Tektite is quite weak, and doesn't hurt Link badly.
