Ads
Is there a setting I can use so that the ads are less...out of control? They're constantly popping up over the page, covering material when I try to read it, wigging out when I scroll up or down, and autoplaying. It's incredibly weird, and to my knowledge FANDOM wikis aren't supposed to have ads if you're logged in, so what gives? 17:29, 11 February 2022 (UTC)

Spin-Offs: - Section
:Just download an ad-blocker. Mockypocky (talk) 16:14, 12 February 2022 (UTC)
I feel at this point - should probably have its own section within the spin-offs category on the front page, like the Tingle, BSX and CD-i games. It's 3 games already and kinda its own sub series. I'd do it but, you know, front page is locked. — ZeroELEC (talk) 18:00, 19 May 2018 (UTC)

:Personally, I disagree. Hyrule Warriors isn't a sub-series, it's a single game with 2 ports that added new content. It doesn't really deserve a separate section. 18:49, 19 May 2018 (UTC)
::That's not an option for me. Is there any FANDOM setting that I can use to fix this? 19:35, 2 March 2022 (UTC)

::Thing is, we still list all the - series games as separate icons in the main page within the "Spin-Offs" section. Half of the uncategorised games there are - games. While they may not be a sub-series, they could easily be grouped together, especially now that there's 3 releases there. — ZeroELEC (talk) 19:43, 19 May 2018 (UTC)
:::Ads appear for all users even if they are logged in unless you have the membership. If you're an active editor then you can earn the membership to not get ads, otherwise there is no setting to turn off ads. 22:43, 2 March 2022 (UTC)

:::We list all remakes (or expanded ports) separately to the game they are a remake of. Half of the uncategorized games were releases of - before we added the Definitive Edition as well (granted, we should've added My Nintendo Picross: Twilight Princess before that). I don't see why either of those justifies creating a separate group for one game, even if it has 3 releases listed. 16:24, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
Release Template Changes
On all Zelda releases it lists the regions the games were released in, but it lists Europe as 'European Union' which is wrong as the UK is in Europe but no longer in 'European Union' maybe we can change the template data to correct this, as most if not all Zelda games released in 'EU' was released in the UK, thankyou everyone! Ezee03

Reopen Zeldapedia on Fandom
:We could change it to "PAL" Mockypocky (talk) 13:09, 28 February 2022 (UTC)
This wiki is vastly inferior than Zeldapedia on Fandom. There are many outdated articles, less details of in-game topics and many blank information (like item locations). I don't know why Fandom had to 'merge' their wiki with Gamepedia. This isn't merging, this is forcing users to move here. Why can't they keep both wikis? Cryinglighting (talk) 09:20, 16 May 2020 (UTC)

:Hey, there. I was a bureaucrat over at Zeldapedia and helped organize the merge here to Zelda Wiki. Let me assure you that no one was forced into anything – we actually held a large community discussion that culminated in a vote; the community of Zeldapedia overwhelmingly voted to merge with Zelda Wiki.
I'm genuinely unsure why you think ZW is inferior; it was pretty well-known, even among the few ZP editors remaining, that ZW was and is superior to Zeldapedia. If anything, there are more details, fewer outdated articles, and a larger and more dedicated editor base.
Gamepedia and Fandom are one now, like it or not, and it's best to accept that and move on. There's no purpose in having two Zelda wikis on what will be one unified platform; not to mention this wiki will eventually migrate to Fandom's UCP. – Ceiling Master (talk) 13:52, 16 May 2020 (UTC)

- GBA Tile
:::We're thinking about making it "Council of Europe," as that would still include UK and the other EU countries. Although, we're still discussing because it also includes some countries that weren't in the EU, so there may be a better option we can find. We may just need to make every country individual or try to see what Nintendo does and model it after that. 02:06, 2 March 2022 (UTC)
Is it possible to add a Link to the Past & Four Swords Tile into the Remakes section of the Main page? I noticed that this game is absent, despite being a remake on the same magnitude of WWHD and TPHD which are there. It did add a new dungeon and many new changes, so I would say that its not a port, but a remake, which should warrant a tile for it. I know FS has a tile on the main series section, but that doesn't mean the aLttp remake shouldn't also have one. Gallery:A Link to the Past has artwork from the GBA remake that could be used for the tile, such as the Geldman picture.

:::::does anybody know what Nintendo officially calls the region? And also should we use whatever the region was called at the time of release? 18:01, 3 March 2022 (UTC)
I think we should change the years to the first years the games released. I think the readers of the wiki are more interested in the year the game first released rather than when it became accessible in North America. For example, we show the first Zelda as being released in 1987 as it was in North America. However, it was first released for the Disk System in 1986 in Japan. So yeah, we should probably change it a bit. Mockypocky (talk) 14:43, 16 August 2021 (UTC)

An unmerger!? Zeldapedia is back? Well it was always a better name I must confess. What lead to it (if I must confess the original merge always perturbed me just a bit, but I had already decided to leave by then and didn't want to butt in)? First think you'll need to do is ditch this blue colour scheme and go back to the gold green classic. And if you're taking input from an old guard like me, I'd really prefer if pages were formatted by release order rather than that silly timeline nonsense. This isn't an internal chronicle, it's an encyclopedia of the games as games. Better to find information by the order in which it was actually created in. At least that's my opinion. I don't have any real intention to contribute, but am I able to get my old account back? I tried logging in with my original credentials and it didn't take. I'm confused about the "on this day" section. Is it supposed to tell you what happened on this exact day this year, or is it telling you what happened on previous April 21sts?? :Your second explanation is correct. It usually says something like "On this day, 12 years ago..." for example. Also, this is a temporary name, we're planning on renaming back to Zelda Wiki once we get some things figured out with Fandom. We won't be ditching the blue color scheme anytime soon, but the only thing that is planned on being changed from the original Zelda Wiki is our logo. Currently we're using a prototype, but a new design will be coming in the future. 𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧𝟏𝟎𝟎𝟎 (𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤) 04:13, 25 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

WiKirby?

At the bottom of the page where it shows the other wikis within NIWA, i don't see Wikirby, the kirby series wiki. can someone add it? Eligames2009 (talk) 00:02, 22 December 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

WiKirby is there, third from the last. I'll admit the Warp Star isn't super visually indicative of Kirby, though - maybe it should be swapped out for File:WKlogo.png in the NIWA Navigation template. – JumbledLimes (talk/contribs) 00:54, 22 December 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

On This Day...

I'm confused about the "on this day" section. Is it supposed to tell you what happened on this exact day this year, or is it telling you what happened on previous April 21sts?? And if the first explanation is true, then why is it always empty, even on important days? SuperBowser64 (talk) 17:18, 21 April 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Your second explanation is correct. It usually says something like "On this day, 12 years ago..." for example. If there's any important dates in the past that haven't been filled in, it's probably because they haven't been added to Data:On This Day yet. Ok, thanks for clearing that up. SuperBowser64 (talk) 21:42, 22 April 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
