I am thinking that there should be a better image to use in the infobox than the one currently there. For one, the current image is clearly a cropped screenshot of decent but not spectacular quality. Secondly, the Soldier is hard to make out, especially due to its attack being included in the image. Is there any official artwork for Lorule Soldiers? If not, could we just have a cropped image of the enemy's in-game model? –{{:User:EzloSpirit/Siggy}} 23:16, 4 May 2015 (UTC)

Lorule Soldiers being called enemies

I don't think Lorule Soldiers should be called enemies on this page. Enemies are typically things Link fights. They attack & do damage to him whether he can kill them or not. While the Lorule Soldiers do imprison Link if he gets caught, they don't attack him, they don't do damage to him, and Link can't use his weapons on them. If they are enemies, then the Deku guards in Majora's Mask and the Hyrule Soldiers Link must sneak past in Ocarina of Time should also be listed under the enemies sections in those respective games since they play a similar role. In addition, they are the counterparts to the Hyrule Soldiers, so considering them as enemies neglects this fact. This is another reason why they should not be called enemies & should have Hyrule Soldiers added as their counterparts. Wtc4ever (talk) 18:47, 9 August 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]
There is zero doubt that these are enemies. They are malicious, and seek to impede Link in order to serve their (also malicious) leader. Whether or not they can be killed or damaged is largely irrelevant, because there is a precedent for immortal enemies (Guardians, for instance, who simply reset Link's adventure in the Silent Realms should he be captured. In the same game, there are Bokoblins that Link must avoid because he cannot fight them without weapons). While we can definitely draw parallels between them and the Hyrule Soldiers or the Deku guards, Lorule Soldiers are unquestionably meant to be enemies. Hyrule Soldiers (say, the OoT variant in and around Hyrule Castle or the Deku guards in the Deku Palace) are doing their job to righteously protect their monarch, so it's not a direct comparison. Even Rusl attacks (Wolf) Link in Twilight Princess, but it's clear that he has no malicious intent towards Link himself.
Comparable to the Soldiers in A Link to the Past who are brainwashed, they are very clearly enemies, but I wouldn't say that Hyrule Soldiers as a whole (from the series) are enemies, which is reflected in the fact that we have two articles for the enemy Soldiers and the regular policing force.
However, I concede that it would be more acceptable to slap on the People category and point out somewhere within the article that they are the counterparts to the Hyrulean Soldiers, so I will add those shortly. User:Pakkun/sig 21:50, 10 August 2014 (UTC)
