The Susuyai Shrine,[1] designated by the trial name A Spinning Device,[1] is a Shrine of Light in Tears of the Kingdom.

Entrance to the Shrine

The Susuyai Shrine is a Shrine of Light on the Surface. It is located in the northwest portion of the Hyrule Garrison Ruins in Hyrule Field in the same spot where the Central Tower was located in Breath of the Wild. It corresponds to the Iayusus Lightroot in the Depths.

Themes and Navigation

The whole of the Susuyai Shrine consists of one large hallway with multiple obstacles throughout it. These obstacles serve to instruct Link on how to use Small Wheels in his Ultrahand constructions.

The first obstacle has three Vehicles made from Small Wheels and Stone Slabs that continuously drive across the hallway and off the side into a pit. These Vehicles may injure Link and can continue to push him off the side unless he moves away. Ultrahand can be used to grab the Vehicles and move them out of their cycle so Link can walk across. Link may also simply dodge them instead.

The second obstacle is a large rolling cylinder that spans the entire width of the hallway. Four Small Wheels and a lone Stone Slab sit nearby that Link can use to create a Vehicle that will drive fast enough to cross the cylinder. It is possible to simply run across the cylinder instead, as it rotates at nearly Link's exact walking speed.

The third obstacle is a portcullis that locks Link out of the next room. The nearby lever will raise the portcullis when pushed, but must be continuously pushed for the portcullis to remain open. To keep the lever spinning while Link walks through the gate, Link may use Ultrahand to attach a Small Wheel to the lever and then activate it, which will push the lever as long as it runs. Alternatively, Recall may be used on the lever after it is pushed for some time, which will keep the lever spinning without Link pushing it.

The final room has a large pit with a Rail spanning the gap. The room provides Link with two Small Wheels and a Lift hanging on the wire. Attaching a Small Wheel to the top of the Lift where it hangs on the wire will drag the Lift across the gap and carry Link with it.

A Statue of Rauru and Sonia can be found across the pit. By interacting with the Terminal in front of the Statue, Link can receive a Light of Blessing to cleanse the corruption of Darkness from within him.[2][3]
