Template:Boss Steppe Talus is a boss in Breath of the Wild, appearing on the Great Plateau. It appears to be a cluster of boulders at first, but once approached, assembles into a large golem-like being. [1]

Strategy

Steppe Talus is fairly large compared to Link and can deal large amounts of damage, but it also happens to be a very slow-moving being; as long as Link can stay behind or beneath it, he will be out of harm's way. Steppe Talus has four main attacks; it can use its large arm structures to punch and swipe across the ground, dealing heavy damage to the impact area, it can fall forward and crash its entire body into the ground before it, and it can launch large fragments of its rocky frame at Link.

To defeat Steppe Talus, Link must climb onto its body and find the cranial node, usually located on top of the boss, and attack it. After taking damage, Steppe Talus will attempt to throw Link off by shaking itself. To make climbing easier, Link can use the Bomb Rune to blast apart Steppe Talus' arms, hindering it temporarily. Steppe Talus can regenerate lost body parts shortly after losing them. If Link uses the Sheikah Slate to scan the boss, its health will appear as a red bar on the top of the screen.

Defeating Steppe Talus rewards Link with many rare Ores. [2]
