Staldra appear as a common enemy in Skyward Sword. They can be found in the Skyview Temple and the Lanayru Mining Facility. Link must use his sword to cut off all the heads at once, as they will grow back if he doesn't. To do this Link has to perfect slice all three heads, in the way they are positioned. If a Staldra has all three heads lined up in a single row he would have to perform a horizontal slice to bring down the best.

Trivia

  • Staldra is a portmanteau of "Stal" and "Hydra". Stal is a prefix used to denote skeletal creatures, such as the Stalfos.
  • Gleeoks are similar, multi-headed creatures that also seem to be related to the Hydra.
  • It is possible to kill the beast with a bomb if all the heads are looking in the direction of the bomb.
  • All Staldras drop a single Red Rupee when destroyed.
