Obtaining the Spin Attack in Ocarina of Time

The Spin Attack is pretty much Link's signature move. The attack is done in most Zelda games by holding the B button down for a matter of time and then releasing it. The Spin Attack an sich is a basic attack, and a better, though harder to perform version can usually be learned sometime later in the games.

Whirling Blade Attack

In Link's Awakening, this technique is called the Whirling Blade Attack.

Magic/Super Spin Attack

The Super Spin Attack is a special technique found in several Zelda games including: Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask. It is a Spin Attack with a bigger radius of attack. Usually it can only be used when one's life meter is completely filled up. It must be granted to the player via Great Fairy or by other special means.

Hurricane Spin

The Hurricane Spin.

The Hurricane Spin is an extremely advanced spin attack taught by Orca on Outset Island in The Wind Waker. When ten Knight's Crests are given to Orca, he will teach Link this move. It drains magic on use. However there is a side effect that comes with this powerful manuever: Link will be dizzy and unable to move for a few moments, leaving him susceptible to attacks from enemies.

This move can also be used in Four Swords after powering up the sword via the extra mission unlocked in the multiplayer mode. Simply hold the B button until the sword flashes for the second time, then release. Be warned- Link will be dizzy and unable to move just as in The Wind Waker.

Great Spin Attack

The Great Spin Attack in The Minish Cap is taught to Link by one of the Swiftblades. When learned, Link can spin multiple times when he does his Spin Attack. (This is done by tapping the A button repeatedly after you charge the attack) The Great Spin in Twilight Princess is one of the hidden skills, and the final one learned. The Howling Stone Location is in Hidden Village and the Wolf location is in front of Hyrule Castle. To do the great spin, your hearts must be full. Simply do a spin attack, and the regular Spin Attack will be upgraded into a much more powerful raging red spin with a wider radius, which is effective against groups of enemies. The Great Spin Attack can be used in Phantom Hourglass after getting the Swordman's Scroll by doing the Mermaid Sidequest. It can be done by using a Spin Attack twice in a row, the third time will be a great spin attack. Link will be dizzy for a few seconds after this attack.
