Template:Boss Spike Roller is the Sub-Boss of Tail Cave in Link's Awakening.[1][note 1]

Characteristics

Link's Awakening

To defeat Spike Roller, Link can use the Roc's Feather to jump over the Spiketrap that he pushes in his direction. Then he must attack him with the Sword as many times as possible before he can get back behind the Spiketrap. Defeating Spike Roller will open the way to the Boss, Moldorm, and open a warp back to the entrance of the Dungeon.

Spike Roller also appears as one of many previous Sub-Bosses in Turtle Rock. If defeated in Turtle Rock, he will return like a regular enemy.

Other Appearances

Link's Awakening (Cagiva)

In the Link's Awakening manga by Ataru Cagiva, Link fights Spike Roller inside Tail Cave before reaching Moldorm.

Nomenclature

It is likely that the name "Rolling Bones" is a play on the famous rock band, The Rolling Stones.

Notes

  1. Spike Roller was referred to as Rolling Bones in all versions of Link's Awakening prior to Link's Awakening for Nintendo Switch. However, as this contradicts the name given in Link's Awakening for Nintendo Switch, it is no longer considered Canon.
