Sea of Storms

The Sea of Storms is a raging section of the Zora Seas of Labrynna, found in Oracle of Ages. It flows into the Sea of No Return, Crescent Strait and the waters of Rolling Ridge. In the present, it no longer reaches Rolling Ridge, the construction of Yoll Graveyard and the natural development of land having blocked it off.

The Sea of Storms is characterized by strong whirlpools and deep water, unsailable without a Chart. However, mermaids and Zoras are capable of swimming through the water, whereas even monsters have failed to make a home in these deadly waters. Considering the dangers of the Sea of Storms, the one entrance into the ring of whirlpools which is not blocked by a whirlpool is instead blocked by a Zora guard. Under order of King Zora, none but the hero of the Zora, signaled by the Zora Scale, may enter.

Over the years, the Sea of Storms has grown stronger; more whirlpools exist in the present, than in the past. However, the whirlpools of the present have also receded, pulling tightly together. It is uncertain why this is so.

Lost in the Sea of Storms, the Skull Pirates sailed until Link came. The Captain eagerly took the Zora's Scale in exchange for the Tokay Eyeball, sure that with the Scale, he and his crew could escape the seas. Although correct, it is unknown how he actually did so.

Trivia
