"Robbie's Research" is a Side Quest in Breath of the Wild.[1]
Overview
Link obtains the Quest after showing Purah a picture of herself taken with the Camera Rune. Afterwards, Purah informs Link that he can bring Ancient Materials to either her or Robbie at the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab in return for "something good."[2] A fire bowl will appear in front of the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab's Furnace following this discussion, allowing Link to rekindle the Furnace's Blue Flame.
If Link visits the Tech Lab in Akkala, Robbie will ask him to show the scars that he received during the Great Calamity as proof that he is the Hylian Champion.[3] In order to do so, Link must speak to Robbie while not wearing any Armor that covers his torso. Upon seeing Link's scars, he acknowledges the Hylian before him as Link.[4]
With introductions out of the way, Robbie asks Link to work with him to combat Calamity Ganon,[5] the first part of which being to equip Link with Ancient Soldier Gear.[6] However, as the Ancient Oven built for the purpose of creating Ancient Soldier Gear has stopped working, Link must restore the Blue Flame to the Furnace outside the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab.[7] In order to do so, Link must climb Tumlea Heights and carry the Blue Flame from the Ancient Furnace back to the Ancient Tech Lab.[8] It is also possible to carry the Blue Flame from the Ancient Furnace in Hateno Village instead, though the Ancient Furnace atop Tumlea Heights is significantly closer.
Once Link has restored the Blue Flame and returned to Robbie, he will excitedly inform Link that Cherry is once again operational, attributing it to the power of his love for Cherry.[9] He grows disappointed upon being told that it was Link's doing, but gifts Link with three Ancient Arrows as thanks for restoring Cherry.[10] If Link activates the Furnace before Robbie demands proof from Link, Robbie will not question Link's identity and instead give Link the three Ancient Arrows.[11][12] Either result completes the Quest.

If you give it some ancient materials and a generous supply of rupees, the ancient oven will provide some ancient soldier gear in exchange. |
