The River Devil is an enemy in The Adventure of Link.[name references needed] It is a black creature that blocks the single north-south road of Eastern Hyrule.

Characteristics

Though citizens of Nabooru speak of the River Devil in fear,[1] he does not attack, and serves merely as an obstruction. The only way to pass him is to play the Flute found in the Palace on the Sea.[2]

Trivia

  • The River Devil has a different design in the Japanese Famicom Disk System version of the game, directly based on a traditional Oni.
