The Outpost Ruins are a recurring location in The Legend of Zelda series.(BotW | TotK)[1][2]
Features and Overview
Breath of the Wild
The Outpost Ruins are located east of the Great Plateau in Hyrule Field. The remains of three Fallen Guardians can be found scattered throughout the Ruins, which can be searched for Ancient Materials. Link can also find several Barrels and Wooden Boxes around the Ruins, which contain Arrows and Apples.
100 years ago, the Outpost was the most populous of all other outposts in Hyrule Field, with its citizens mostly consisting of Hylians.[3][4] As is the case with the East Post Ruins and the Gatepost Town Ruins nearby, the Outpost Ruins were previously used as a waypoint for those journeying to the Great Plateau, Lanayru, or the Gerudo Desert.[3] During the Great Calamity, the Outpost was destroyed by a barrage of Guardians.[4] Soldiers and civilians from Gatepost Town made their way through the Outpost while evacuating Hyrule Field, with any survivors making it to Necluda.[5]
If The Master Trials DLC Pack is installed, Misko's EX Journal will appear in the Outpost Ruins, atop a broken bookshelf in the corner of the southernmost structure.[6] Its pages provide hints as to the current locations of several pieces of Armor that Misko had stolen from Hyrule Castle.[7] Reading the Journal is is necessary for the "EX Treasure: Ancient Mask",[6] "EX Treasure: Fairy Clothes",[8] "EX Treasure: Twilight Relic",[9] and "EX Treasure: Phantasma" Side Quests.[10]
A total of three Treasure Chests can be found among the Outpost Ruins. The first is a stone Chest at the center of the Ruins, containing a Traveler's Bow. A second stone Treasure Chest can be found in the building to the far east of the Ruins, and it contains a Red Rupee. The third Chest is made of metal and contains an Amber, and it can be found embedded in the ground on the southernmost building.
Creatures
Minor Enemies
Tears of the Kingdom
As in Breath of the Wild, the Outpost Ruins are located in Hyrule Field.
