- This is about adult Link's trading sequence. For young Link's trading sequence, see Mask Trading Sequence.
The Trading Sequence in Ocarina of Time is an optional side-quest that only Adult Link can complete. For completing the side-quest, Link receives the Biggoron's Sword, a powerful two-handed blade. In order to fully complete the Trading Sequence, Link must either free Epona from Lon Lon Ranch or get the Longshot from the Water Temple.

Event Procedure
Pocket Egg
To begin the Trading Sequence, Link must talk to the Cucco Lady in Kakariko Village, who will give him the Pocket Egg.[1]
Pocket Cucco
After a full day, a Pocket Cucco will hatch from the Pocket Egg.[2]
Cojiro
Once the Pocket Cucco has hatched, Link must use it in front of Talon, who is sound asleep in a house in Kakariko Village. Doing so will wake him up.[3][4] Link can then return the Pocket Cucco to the Cucco Lady. Pleased with Link's work, she will give him what was previously Grog's Cucco, a rare, blue Cucco named Cojiro.[5][6] Unlike other members of its species, Cojiro is said to be quite silent,[7] especially since Grog left.[8]
Odd Mushroom
To obtain the Odd Mushroom,[9] Link must take Cojiro to the Lost Woods and present it to Grog, who will be sleeping up against a tree stump near the entrance. Grog will wake up, then give Link the Odd Mushroom. He will beg Link to take it to the Old Hag who owns the Potion Shop in Kakariko Village, but warns him that the Odd Mushroom will disappear if he takes too long.[10][11] Link has three minutes to bring it to the Potion Shop but he cannot warp to Kakariko Village or the Odd Mushroom will spoil automatically.
Odd Poultice
The Old Poultice,[12], previously known as Odd Potion,[13] is a medicine produced by the Old Hag if Link was successful in bringing the Odd Mushroom to her within the three-minute time limit. She will then ask Link to deliver it to Grog.[14]
Poacher's Saw
If Link returns to the area where he found Grog, Fado will be there instead, explaining to Link that Grog got lost and turned into a Stalfos.[15] If Link shows her the medicine, she will want to have it back.[16] Link will then pick up the Poacher's Saw.[17]
Broken Goron Sword
To obtain the Broken Goron Sword,[18] Link must return the Poacher's Saw to its original owner, the Master Craftsman, the leader of the Carpenters.[19] The Master Craftsman can be found in Gerudo Valley. In exchange for the Poacher's Saw, he will give Link the Broken Goron Sword.[20] Either Epona or the Longshot can be used to complete this part of the Trading Sequence.
Prescription
Link must take the Broken Goron's Sword to Biggoron on top of Death Mountain. Biggoron will say he would gladly repair the sword, but is currently unable to because of his irritated eyes.[21] He will then give Link a Prescription for some eyedrops,[22] to be taken to King Zora.[23]
Eyeball Frog
To receive the Eyeball Frog,[24] Link must travel to Zora's Domain and present the Prescription to King Zora (he will need to be unfrozen with Blue Fire from the Ice Cavern if Link hasn't done so already). He will then give Link the Eyeball Frog, the essential ingredient for making Eyedrops.[25] Link must bring the Eyeball Frog to the Lake Scientist within a three-minute time limit, or else it will spoil.[26][27] Link will be unable to make it to the Lakeside Laboratory in time unless he rides Epona. Once again, warping is not allowed.
World's Finest Eyedrops
The World's Finest Eyedrops,[28] also known as Biggoron's Eyedrops[29] or simply Eyedrops,[30] are a medicine produced by the Lake Scientist if Link can make it to the Lakeside Laboratory before the Eyeball Frog spoils. The Lake Scientist will first be surprised to see the Eyeball Frog,[31] then will express his desire to eat its eyeballs.[32] After Link explains the situation,[29] the Lake Scientist will make the Eye Drops. Just like for the Odd Mushroom and the Eyeball Frog, Link has a limited amount of time, four minutes in this instance, to deliver these before they go bad.[33][34] Once again, warping will make them spoil instantly.
Claim Check
If Link can manage to bring the World's Finest Eyedrops to the top of Death Mountain within the four-minute time limit, Biggoron will be thankful and use it immediately.[35] He will then start fixing the Biggoron's Sword, but since this operation is going to take a few days, he will give Link a Claim Check to be returned when the work is complete.[36][37]
The Claim Check that appears above Link has a message in very tiny writing on it. Squinting at the texture reveals an item description written by a Japanese developer in questionable English.[38]
Biggoron's Sword
Three days after Biggoron gives Link the Claim Check, Link can finally claim the Biggoron's Sword, thus ending the Trading Sequence.[39] The Biggoron's Sword is the most powerful weapon in the game. Link must wield it with both hands, meaning he cannot defend with his Shield while he has the Biggoron's Sword equipped.[40]
