Template:Place Nortinka is a location in The Faces of Evil. Along with Crater Cove and Goronu, it is one of the game's starting areas.

Features and Overview

Nortinka is a frozen, mountainous region in the north-west of Koridai. It is densely covered in snow and dotted with igloos, where the region's inhabitants live. A tall mountain also stands over the region, where Aypo the reader's library is located at the summit. Since Ganon's take over however, the area was abandoned and became overrun with Moblins and Goriyas, with some of them living in the igloos left behind. The Moblins in the area carry Snowballs, which are dropped after they are defeated.

Link enters the area from the right, where a tall, igloo-like structure can immediately be seen atop a hill. Inside lives Hamsha the elderly woman, who for unknown reasons, has become frozen as a result of Ganon freezing an unspecified fountain.[1] Link can throw a Firestone to thaw her, which will reward the hero with Water of Life. If Link owns a Canteen, Hamsha will also refill it for him. She however shortly freezes again soon after, but can be thawed any time necessary. A door in her igloo basement leads to the region's mountain side, but is at first locked. Link can find its Key in the smashed igloo at the far end of the region's main area, where Moblins will attempt to corner him inside.

At the mountain side, Abominoms attack Link from the slopped pathways by throwing stones at him. Their sole weakness to fire requires that Link bring Firestones to defeat them with. Flying Deadites and Falling Icicles also attempt to impede on Link's climb up the mountain. At the very top is the rocky summit, where Aypo's library stands. Inside, the reader offers to read the Book of Koridai once Link obtains it. When Link brings it back, Aypo reveals that the book is the only thing that can defeat Ganon. A Triforce Map in the library takes Link back to the world map screen. After completing the stage, Toyku Lighthouse opens as a new stage.
