Template:Character Madam MeowMeow is a character in Link's Awakening.[1][note 1] She is the proud owner of BowWow and YipYip, and an apparent lover of Chain Chomps.

Biography

Madam MeowMeow is often found boasting about BowWow's fur coat in her home located in Mabe Village.[3] In addition to BowWow, she owns two other smaller chain chomps. One lives in the house with her, and another, YipYip, a fashion obsessed female chain chomp that can speak, lives in the small hut attached to the side of her house.[4]

When Link returns with the Full Moon Cello from Tail Cave, her beloved BowWow is "dognapped" by Moblins,[5] Link must go to the Moblin Cave and get him back from the Great Moblin. As a reward for safely returning her pet, Madam MeowMeow gives Link a kiss that refills his Hearts and also allows him to take her beast for a walk.[6][7] Without BowWow, entering the Bottle Grotto is impossible because it is blocked by a group of Goponga Flowers that only BowWow can eat.

Nomenclature

Madam MeowMeow is named after the vocalization of a Cat.
