This article is about the Weapon in Hyrule Warriors. For similarly named Items, see here.

Knight's Swords are Items in Hyrule Warriors.[2]

Location and Uses

Knight's Swords are used by Soldiers and Hylian Captains of Hyrule. They come with a shield and are modified to be used by left-handed Soldiers.[3] Once a Trainee reaches the status of Soldier, they are given a Knight's Sword. In the first Scenario, "The Armies of Ruin," a horde of Enemies attacks Hyrule Castle and the Trainees are told to stay inside.[4][5] Link, a Trainee at the time, disobeys and takes a Knight's Sword to join the fight.[6][7] Link then uses the Knight's Sword to fight until either unlocking the White Sword or obtaining the Master Sword.

Knight's Swords are the base Weapon in the Hylian Sword archetype used by Link.[8] They are unlocked from the start upon starting the "The Armies of Ruin" Scenario.[9] Knight's Swords have a base attack damage of 80, increasing by 10 percent for each star in the Weapon's star rating;[10] Knight's Swords can have a range of 80, 88, 96, 104, 112, and 120 attack damage. They have a one Skill slot available (which can be increased when obtained while using a Weapon with a "Slots+" Skill), and are Light-type Weapons, meaning that the Weapon will increasingly deal more damage while repeatedly attacking a group of Enemies.[11]

Knight's Swords, at their base tier of no stars and Skills, are worth 1,000 Rupees.[1] Each star in the Weapon's star rating increases the value of the Knight's Sword by 100 Rupees, with a max of 1,500 Rupees for a five-star Knight's Sword. Depending on each Skill that the Knight's Sword holds, the value will increase by a differing number of Rupees.

Combo Attack: Dash Attack
Pressing Y Button after four or more consecutive slashes will trigger the Dash Attack combo. Link runs forwards with his Hylian Sword extended and carries Enemies backwards, then makes one last lunge with his Hylian Sword to deal the most damage.

Special Attack

Main article: Special Attack

The Hylian Sword's Special Attack is a powerful version of the Spin Attack. The wielder raises the Hylian Sword skyward and charges the sword with some form of power, and then launches into a very large horizontal Spin Attack while dashing forward. This attack is highly effective against a crowd of enemy soldiers in front of Link, given its wide radius and extensive forward range.

Weak Point Smash

Like all Weapon categories in Hyrule Warriors, the Hylian Sword has two different Weak Point Smash attacks, the one used depending on whether the target is a Giant Boss or not. The attack used against Captains and Warriors consists of a series of wide slices in varying directions, followed by an ultra-powerful forward thrust. The Weak Point Smash used against Giant Bosses is a massive leap into the air, followed by a to-the-hilt downward thrust into the Boss's core.

Focus Spirit

Main article: Focus Spirit

The Hylian Sword's Focus Spirit Attack is a single forward thrust that has a relatively high attack range. Like with all Focus Spirit Attack, hitting a Captain, Warrior, or Giant Boss with this thrust will instantly expose that target's Weak Point Gauge for an extended period of time.

If Link's Focus Spirit Gauge is allowed to run dry on its own (without unleashing the Focus Spirit Attack), Link will thrust his Hylian Sword upward and release an explosion of light with him at the center.
