Evil Orb[1] is the boss of the Color Dungeon in Link's Awakening DX.

Though it continually warns Link to take his time, he must strike it successively for it to change colors from blue to red, indicating loss of health. Evil Orb is capable of healing himself, so Link must defeat him quickly or else he will change back to blue. An often used approach is the use of Arrows or the Magic Rod if Link has obtained it yet. Another method is to equip Roc's Feather, and use it to jump over its attacks and strike it multiple times with Link's Sword. Beating it will give Link access to a Great Fairy that will offer him a blue or red tunic.

Trivia

  • In the Link's Awakening DX guide by Prima Games, Evil Orb is named D. Poon.[2] This is a translation of its Japanese name, Template:Japanese. Given that Pōn is the Japanese name for Hardhat Beetle, Evil Orb may have been inspired by the Template:ALTTP version of this enemy since they also resemble each other. Because of this, Evil Orb is known by most fans as {{{2}}}. Some also call it {{{2}}}.
