The Great Plateau is the central map location in Breath of the Wild, and is also where the game starts.

According to the Old Man, the Great Plateau is the location where Hyrule was founded.[1] The ruins of the Temple of Time are found here. During E3 2016, the first playable demo was shown. The demo only featured the Great Plateau area.
