Non-Canon Appearances

Phantom Hourglass Manga

A Flying Fish is shown in the Phantom Hourglass manga by Akira Himekawa leaping out of the water to attack the S.S. Linebeck.[1] Unlike in the game, the Flying Fish spits a rock at the ship, almost capsizing it. Link questions Linebeck if the ship has any kind of weapon.[2] As the Fish continues attacking the vessel, Linebeck replies that the ship does not.[3] Link asks the captain how he is able to cross waters with Fish like these.[4] Linebeck says by running for his life, speeding the S.S. Linebeck forward and leaving the Flying Fish behind.[5]

After getting a Cannon from Eddo, the Flying Fish reappears.[6] Link fires the Cannon and causes the Fish is explode.
