The Dusk Claymore,(TotK)[1] also known as the Sword of the Six Sages,(BotW)[2] is a recurring Item and Object in The Legend of Zelda series. The Dusk Claymore goes unnamed in Twilight Princess, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U.
Location and Uses
Twilight Princess
Prior to the events of Twilight Princess, the six Sages forged the Dusk Claymore to execute the Demon King, Ganondorf.[2] When this execution took place, the six Sages gathered at the Mirror Chamber with Ganondorf in chains. The Sage of Water thrust the Dusk Claymore into Ganondorf's chest.[citation needed] However, the attempt was in vain, as the Triforce of Power kept him alive. Ganondorf withdrew the Sword from his body and broke free from his chains to kill the Sage of Water. Despite failing to kill him, it did inflict a glowing wound on Ganondorf that never healed. The wound later acts as Dark Beast Ganon and Ganondorf's weak point. During the final sword battle between Link and Ganondorf, Link plunges the Master Sword into the wound, defeating him. Even though the Sages banish Ganondorf to the Twilight Realm, he manages to keep the Dusk Claymore and use it against Link in the final battle. Ganondorf wishes to blot out the light forever with this blade.[3] Link never wields the Dusk Claymore in Twilight Princess.
Breath of the Wild
The Sword of the Six Sages appears in Breath of the Wild as an exclusive amiibo Item. It has a rare chance of appearing in a Treasure Chest after scanning the Super Smash Bros. Series Ganondorf amiibo with the amiibo Rune, although only after Link has tamed at least one of the Divine Beasts. The Sword of the Six Sages functions as a two-handed Weapon, and its description refers to it as a longsword.[2] Additionally, its sheath is the same one used by Ganondorf in Twilight Princess. It shines with a holy luster that causes it to glow in dark areas such as the Thyphlo Ruins. Link can acquire replacements via using the Ganondorf amiibo if it breaks or if it is lost.
Being made of metal, the Sword of the Six Sages will conduct Electricity and attract Lightning if it is equipped during a Thunderstorm. It will also sink if dropped in Water, but it can be picked back up and manipulated using the Magnesis Rune. If it is exposed to Fire or a Scorching Climate, it will not burn as wooden Weapons do.

Tears of the Kingdom
Other Appearances
Super Smash Bros. Series
In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Ganondorf shows the Sword during one of his taunts. In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, Ganondorf shows the Sword as a taunt once again. He can also attack with it by using the Warlock Blade, a custom neutral special move that replaces the Warlock Punch.
Trivia
- While Ganondorf is wielding the sword in Twilight Princess, the color changes from white to a glowing red; while this may be just due to the lighting, its similar coloration in Super Smash Bros. could mean the color change is intentional.
