In the three first titles of The Legend of Zelda series, Christian imagery is used to depict a medieval theme. Some items are explicitly Christian, such as the Cross.

In the original Japanese version of The Legend of Zelda, the Book of Magic is named バイブル (Bible). In A Link to the Past, the Sanctuary and the Loyal Sage are named 教会 (Church) and 神父様 (Priest), respectively. Nintendo of America changed the names in accordance with their policy against religious content,[citation needed] but left the visuals unchanged in the North American releases.
