The Ancient Robots are a race featured in Skyward Sword. They are very intelligent mechanical beings who inhabit the Lanayru Desert region.
History
Hundreds of years ago, when the Lanayru Desert was a vast, green landscape, the Ancient Robots performed various tasks for the citizens of the area. However, the carelessness and irresponsibility of the people caused for the land's natural resources to deplete and for the land to whither, leaving the robots to break down and litter the Lanayru Mining Facility. However, one of the mechanical beings, Scrapper, appears to be active in the region of Eldin Volcano.
Link can bring back to life the Ancient Robots by hitting a Timeshift Stone in the desert. One of the awakened robots will grant Link the Hook Beetle upgrade, allowing the Beetle to pick up and drop objects from above.
