Guardian Gear is a recurring archetype of Weapon in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][name references needed]
Location and Uses
Breath of the Wild
Guardian Gear are a set of weaponry wielded by Guardian Scouts found in Ancient Shrines.[2][3][4] During "A Minor Test of Strength" trials, Link will encounter Guardian Scouts II, wielding basic Guardian Gear. In "A Moderate Test of Strength" trials, Guardian Scouts III will wield two intermediate pieces of Guardian Gear. Finally, Guardian Scouts IV wielding three advanced pieces of Guardian Gear are found during "A Major Test of Strength" trials.
Guardian Gear were made in ancient times with the Ancient Technology of the Sheikah tribe.[2][3][4][5][6] At their highest level, they are known to surpass the abilities of their metallic counterparts.[5][7] Guardian Shields are known to be able to deflect the beams of Guardian Scouts.[6][7]
Guardian Gear are made out of non-metallic materials that do not attract Lightning and cannot be manipulated using Magnesis. They will float in water, and are not combustible and therefore will not burn when exposed to Fire or Scorching Climates.
