This page isn't done yet. I'll add in the rest of the characters when I have the time.

Before you do too much else, please see the discussion here. User:Ando/sig 22:59, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
Also, do you actually own the CD-i games? If so, THANK YOU FOR EXISTING :D :D :D

I understand your concerns, but I do think it would be kind of stupid to have a page called "Fish-Chopping Lady" (just as an example; if you haven't seen the anim, check youtube under "Lady who cuts up a fish"), a. She has no canonical name, even in the canon of the game itself; b. There's very little info on her. I don't even know why she's in the game, aside from to shoot out indecipherable garbage. Like I said, just an example.

I do think the wiki, however, should be ultimately complete; I agree with you there. However, there is such little information available for many of these characters and so much opposition from others that, although I will attempt it when this page is finished, I'm afraid it may not be possible at the time.

As for the other part, I regrettably don't have the games, or even a CD-i. I did have a copy of Faces of Evil on Amazon that I was saving $100 for (yes, I do consider myself a "virtual masochist"; my favorite movie is Manos: The Hands of Fate :), but someone else got it or it was taken down. I can, however, piece together dialogue from Youtube Poops and videos recorded by kind-hearted individuals such as Tessei, a Youtube user.Template:Nosig

Wikipedia doesn't count as a source because it is an encyclopedia, just as we are one. It isn't professional for one encyclopedia to cite another as its source. It is best never to cite an encyclopedia as your source in any situation, anywhere. Instead go to the sources that Wikipedia listed and use those instead.User:Mjr162006/sig 00:26, June 25, 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the advice. Actually, I'm only a "junior" wiki-writer, so I don't quite know the ropes...so thanks! Darqlink51Darqlink51
Alright, sure, but a general consensus reached on the discussion was to split this list into three lists: one for each of the CD-i games. And then I thought that perhaps, if a character had enough information about them to justify an entire article (such as, perhaps, the King), split them off into their own article; this plan never got commented on after I suggested it, so I'm not sure what anyone else thinks about it, though.
If you have any more questions or just need something, we're here to help! User:Ando/sig 02:25, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
Regarding being a "virtual masochist", well, I can't say I'm any different. I didn't actually have the money for a certain eBay item once and so went into debt with my dad for $180. Well worth it, though. :P

Some things: 1. Wikipedia uses non-external sources. Namely, they have links to quotes. There are some external sources, though. Should I use those? 2. Do you want me to delete this article and make 3 different articles for each game? 3. Not a question, but it's good to find a wiki that's not like "Oh, you don't know how it works? Too bad...NO EDIT FOR YOU!" An exaggeration, of course, but still... EDIT: Regarding virtual masochism, you can discuss this on my talk page. Darqlink51

Well the non-external links typically lead to external ones on other pages.
We should make one page for each game but title them like "Characters in" and then the game title. You can just copy over the work you've done so far to those pages.
Everyone is new at some point. We wouldn't have any good editors at all if we turned them away when they were still learning.User:Mjr162006/sig 02:59, June 25, 2008 (UTC)
You can just create three new articles ("Characters in [game]") and copy the necessary information to those pages. Then this page can become a disambiguation page that has links to the new three articles.
If you can find a sufficiently reliable external source (such as Quebec Gamers, although I'm not sure how much of their content is actually in English), that would be fantastic, as other Wikis aren't considered acceptable sources given that the information on a Wiki is subject to change at any time, and who knows if it's correct or not, especially given that, well, none of us have ever played these games. Of course, if you're looking at YouTube videos and getting the information from there, then there wouldn't really be a need to list your references as it's all essentially your research. What? Ando? "this plan never got commented on after I suggested it" What the crap?!?! Was I a ghost or something then? I did say we'd keep some characters as their own articles! Sort of anyway. "One for characters in both, with links back to the main article" That was after you suggested your plan.User:Mjr162006/sig 06:04, June 25, 2008 (UTC)

Mm, yes, of course. In my defense, I've been really, really tired lately. :P But yes! Excellent. User:Ando/sig 11:23, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, confused sources with footnotes. I'll divide this page up immediately, then. I'm wondering that if I translate Quebec Gamers into English using Google, then it will have a new URL that I can use for an English link? I'll have to check that out...Oh, and in the meantime, I'll be checking a thing on Youtube (I have to formally apologize, there's just no other source unless someone can find a working ROM or buys a copy of the games...) that is a two-hour gameplay video for both games that contains all FMVs and characters, so if I missed anything I'll be sure to jot it up. You can translate it to see what it says, but it would be better to keep the normal link. The Google translates are saved permanently and the link would work after a while. We are going to try to find a ROM. We try not to encourage illegal content, see the main page talk for that. I'm not sure tha moving this page was necessary. We could have made it into a disambiguation page without changing the title. Seems like Ando already moved it back.User:Mjr162006/sig 15:50, June 25, 2008 (UTC)
