Zelda gets ready to go to Mount Lanayru on her 17th birthday so that her power to seal Calamity Ganon would awaken. However, just when they were getting ready, the Calamity awakens, but it is way too fast. The cutscene then changes to how each of the Champions are worried about the Calamity.

Zelda then realizes that her father, King Rhoam, is in Hyrule Castle, and they go inside to rescue the king.

While running towards the castle, Link sees that a Guardian Stalker has been possessed by the Calamity.

Once they go inside to the sanctum of the Castle, they realize that King Rhoam had already escaped through the hidden door. They get ready to escape from Hyrule Castle and meet up with the king.

Just when they try to escape, they meet a White-Maned Lynel in the castle. Link and his friends defeat it, and go thorugh the exit.

Just as Link and Zelda, a Guardian Stalker goes from behind and aims at Zelda. Link puts his shield up, but then realizes someone is behind the Guardian and puts it down.

The Guardian gets sliced from behind, and it is revealed that King Rhoam had defeated the Guardian. However, King Rhoam gets surrounded by three Guardian Stalkers, and he tells Link to go. Zelda tells Link to let go, and that they have to save her father, but he keeps running.

They are finally out of Hyrule Castle, but they could hear the Guardian Stalkers shooting lasers in the distance.

They then see the Sheikah Slate that the diminutive Guardian had brought, and see that all Divine Beasts are possessed by Calamity Ganon. Zelda thinks that all hope is gone, but then realizes that the Divine Beasts are near Hyrule Castle. They think that maybe they might be able to save Mipha, Revali, Daruk, and Urbosa.
